[HMG] – The Dennis Hopper divorce just goes on getting weird. His estranged wife, Victoria has hired the same lawyers as Tiger Woods’ wife, and the accusations she’s making are a film by themselves.
We’ve already covered how Dennis filed for divorce while also fighting cancer. But on Monday, Victoria hired ‘Trope and Trope,’ the same law-firm that represents Elin Nordegren – and she’s looking for blood.
In the suit, the 41-year old spouse alleges Dennis threatened to kill her multiple times, and kept guns in the house – which he often came close to using. Part of that section reads:
“In 2009 I discovered a pistol in the Petitioner’s [that's Dennis] bedroom drawer. It was easily accessible, including to Galen [their 6-year old daughter]. I also located a loaded shotgun in a closet. I told [Dennis] to remove the guns. He agreed. I immediately moved them to a secure location, then had them removed by police.”
And that’s not all – Vicky’s suit also claims Dennis does not even want the divorce, and his 47-year old daughter, Marin, is the real cause of this case.
“Marin is definitely his eyes and ears,” a family friend tells the Beast. “He can trust her. In a weird way, she was the second wife. Plus, Vicky’s younger – and that’s got to be weird.”
Then we get to the money…of course. “While I have attempted to work throughout our marriage, [Dennis] has prevented me from doing so,” she claims. And she goes on; “Because I do not have a steady or significant source of income, I fear I will be unable to provide for our 6-year old daughter and myself.”
Dennis [allegedly] stopped her from working. Once he’s gone she can work and ‘provide’ for them that way…But pity is clearly less effort.
Vicky’s suit also says Dennis has a $1-million life-insurance policy, and that she and Galen should get that as well when he dies. Not her and the family, you’ll notice – just her and her spawn.
Work-wise, Vicky was involved in the Obama campaign of 2008, and Dennis [a staunch Republican disenchanted by Bush] lent his support. But the ex-waitress now had closets full of designer-labels, a sizable trust fund, a ranch and numerous credit cards, all with very large debts – which Dennis paid. So there was no need of work.
But while Victoria’s clearly mining for gold, Dennis is also no saint. In a mid-70’s interview he once admitted to drinking half-a-gallon of rum in a day, while also doing Speedballs (heroin and cocaine). He’s also had problems with women – When he married Michelle Phillips in 1970 the marriage was so stormy, they divorced in eight days.
Vicky now claims that Dennis once threatened if she ever divorced him, “Something bad is going to happen to you, and you won’t see it coming.”
So the man who clearly wants a divorce also said he’d kill her if she granted his wish?
The lawsuit is now moving forward and we’ll update you if this gets more weird…
