(HMG) – NBC has cast movie actor Dermot Mulroney who starred in My Best Friend’s Wedding, as Jim Rockford in the upcoming remake of The Rockford Files!

The 46-year-old actor was unveiled Friday by NBC as the lead in the private eye series which made James Garner a household name. The old show captured a drama Emmy in 1978.

The original series ran on NBC from September of 1974 until January of 1980.

According to the network, the modern-day Jim Rockford is “slightly crumpled, wry humoured, cynical, world weary, compassionate when it’s called for and easily irritated by morons.” He has also served time as a convict and a policeman.

The new series is co-executive produced by comedic actor Steve Carell, who is the star of The Office, and Canadian David Shore, who created the medical drama House.

While Mulroney did appear in 2003 as a guest star on NBC’s “Friends,” but this is his first go taking the lead on the small screen!

Sigourney Weaver revealed on Parisian television this past week that James Cameron has every intention of including her character, Dr. Grace Augustine, in the Avatar sequel!

But wasn't Dr. Grace Augustine shot and killed in the film?????

Weaver says that Dr. Grace still exists "in the tree" and Jimmy is thinking of ways to "keep the family together" for number two.

Thoughts????

Is the aging rocker's luxurious blonde weave laced in too tight???

Because Bret Michaels has no clue why people are flipping their shiz about he and Miley singing about getting undressed!

The Celebreality star says Cyrus dropped into his studio to record a cover of Every Rose Has Its Thorn and Bret played her a demo of Nothin' to Lose, which Michaels claims he wrote a couple of years ago.

"[Miley's] like, 'This is an incredible song, it's beautiful. Maybe I could some stuff to it, some harmonies,'" said Bret.

"I said, 'That'd be killer!'… I never sat down and said, 'Look at the content. Look at the lyrical content,'" he explained.

And the above-mentioned lyrical content?

The song includes lines like "We both know better than this/Still we can't resist/Slowly get undressed." and "Won't you fall down on me/So close I can feel you breathe."

Hmmmm.

It's still pretty skeevy if you as us!
