Check out this news report (above) about "White Guy Window Dressing," a service that Chinese businesses use where they rent white men to pose as fake employees and business partners!
According to author Zhang Haihua:
"Face, we say in China, is more important than life itself. Because Western countries are so developed, people think they are more well off, so people think that if a company can hire foreigners, it must have a lot of money and have very important connections overseas. So when they really want to impress someone, they may roll out a foreigner."
Ha! We bet a lot of unemployed actors are going to be booking flights to China now!
MSNBC, Fox News and the UK's Sun are reporting that the Tiger Woods-Elin Nordegren divorce is final, with only a filing in Orlando County Court remaining.
"Everything's signed. Elin is ready to file for divorce at Orlando County Court," says an inside source. "She expects to sometime in the next seven days."
The settlement Elin is to receive, which has become the subject of much debate in recent weeks, is reportedly valued in the neighborhood of $750 million.
Yes, three-quarters of a billion dollars, believed to be the biggest payout of a celebrity divorce ever. There are conditions, however, according to reports:
Tiger may not bring any other females around their children.
Elin can never publicly speak about his various mistresses.
Elin gets full custody of the kids but they share legal custody.
That means Tiger will share decisions about the kids, and as such, Elin will not be able to permanently relocate them to her native Sweden anytime soon.
Tiger's main caveat, though, was that she shut yer yap - for all eternity.
A pal said: "Tiger's main fear is her telling her story after he's rebuilt his reputation, sending him back to the gutter. The price of that (Read more...)
Perhaps this helped the movie set a box office record early this morning, but we have a feeling it would have done quite well even without THG's glowing review.
The third film in this franchise broke the second film's record haul for midnight showings today, as Eclipse pulled in a whopping $30 million across 4,416 screens nationwide. That figure also marks the widest release of all-time, bumping Iron Man 2 down a notch.
New Moon grossed close to $300 domestically during its run, while the original Twlight topped out at $193 million. Expect Eclipse to sky-rocket past both those numbers.
Just how huge has the Twilight Saga become?
In an incident both depressing and hilarious, Elena Kagan was asked about it during her Supreme Court confirmation hearings today. As you can see below, she refrained from commenting on her affiliation with Team Jacob or Team Edward.
Anderson Cooper is reportedly frustrated with CNN especially his low ratings and he is said to be considering other tempting offers from other news outlets.
He is also rumored to be at odds all the time with executive producer David Doss.
But it appears others at CNN are just as frustrated with Cooper since they believe the network shows him favoritism and that he uses too many of CNN's resources.
Cooper's contract expires next year so maybe we'll see him elsewhere?
Just as long as we still get to see the Silver Fox on TV we'll be happy!
Can someone Windex Martin Scorsese's glasses or let us borrow them because we are just not seeing what he is seeing!
The legendary director has told sources that he is ready to mold Harry Potter sidekick Rupert Grint into the next big thing, specifically, the next Leonardo DiCaprio.
He's starting by considering casting Rupert as a meany gangster in one of his next movies, seeing the potential in the ginge to expand past his Potter roots. He explains:
"I thought he (Grint) was a great actor in the Harry Potter movies. In a lot of scenes, the boy stole the show. He will always have respect for the movies that gave him such a huge break, but at his age it's important he doesn't become typecast. He has to do something really out of his comfort zone in the next few years - play a gangster, play a dirty cop, play a kid with learning difficulties. I would be interested in working with him. I would have no issues in casting him as a gangster, he is a very talented young man … When Leo was in 'Titanic' and 'Romeo and Juliet', nobody saw him becoming a bad ass (Read more...)
The rapper, who is already serving jail time in New York for possession of a weapon, will not have to go behind bars for a second round in the state of Arizona for his 2008 drug bust!
The judge must have taken pity on the douchebag in court today, and sentenced him with three years probation.
