Absolutely Fabulous star Jennifer Saunders all clear after breast cancer battle

(HMG) – British television star Jennifer Saunders is probably not well known here in the states, but is best-known as one half of Britain’s most famous double acts, French and Saunders, and is the star of long running show Absolutely Fabulous. It’s being reported today that the 52-year-old star was diagnosed last October with breast cancer, after she found a lump. The tumor was caught early and Saunders underwent an operation to have it removed. The mother-of-three then faced chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment, which caused her to lose her hair, and was extremely sick, friends said. She was given the all-clear last month after eight months of treatment.
“Jennifer’s treatment finished in June. She is very thankful that she has been given the all-clear and is feeling in very good spirits,” a friend told the Daily Mail.
Saunders, who is married to comedian Adrian Edmondson, has not spoken publicly about her illness, telling only family and close friends.
