
We're actually kind of surprised. With their star being less than reliable, you would have thought CBS would've had a Plan B in case something like this happened. (And it was bound to happen sooner or later.)
As Charlie Sheen settles into rehab, he's left his Two and a Half Men network completely in the lurch. We're hearing that CBS stands to lose millions in ad revenue and syndication money because they won't be able to finish the show without Charlie.
The grand total of funds potentially lost if Charlie can not return and the show is permanently shut down $250 million! And that's just in domestic syndication revenue! Experts aren't quite sure what they'll lose in ads, but to put things in perspective, the show grossed CBS more than $155 million in ad revenue last season alone.
We're talking over a quarter of a BILLION dollars forfeited because of one man! Remarkable, isn't it?
In all honestly, we care less about the studio losing money than we do about all the poor people who work on the show who may lose their jobs because of all this. Just goes to show how one self-centered, arrogant man can ruin tons (Read more...)
