The long, strange journey of NFL star Plaxico Burress has come full circle -- the wide receiver has signed to play for the New York Jets. When you’re at a Kings of Leon concert, you definitely feel the heat generated by their performance. But it worked the other way during the band’s Friday night performance at Dallas’s Gexa Energy Pavillion, when the temperature got so hot that lead vocalist Caleb Followill decided he can’t take any more of the heat and walked off the stage.
Granted that the city’s 90+ degree Fahrenheit can be termed as ‘hot’ but no one was expecting the frontman to call it a night like this. Not even his own bandmates!
Before walking away, Followill addressed the audience and said, “My voice is completely 100-percent wrong, I’m sorry. I’m about to fall down here because I’m so goddamn hot.
He added, “I’m gonna go backstage for a second. I’m gonna vomit, I’m gonna drink a beer and I’m gonna come back out here and I’m gonna play three more songs.”
But when the break grew longer and there was no sign of the singer, his brother Jared Followill took the mic and offered his apologies to the restless fans.

Joe Jonas will be joining Britney Spears' previously all female Femme Fatale tour - which also features second banana Nicki Minaj - later this summer.
The middle Jonas brother will tagging along for one night only.
Joe tweeted: "This just in...I will be performing at the @BritneySpears concert in NJ on Aug 5. and get ready for #FastLife in stores Oct. 11."
A musical dream team if ever there were one.
Earlier this year, Joe was rumored to be Brit's full-time opener before Team Spears locked in Nicki, but he'll finally get to live the dream, if only for a night.
Brit's other new tour addition, Jersey Shore's DJ Pauly D, won't start his stint on the girl power gig until August 17, after Britney leaves the Garden State.

Angelina Jolie was close to breaking down and cry on stage as she was given a special award at Bosnia’s Sarajevo film festival, which she attended with soon-to-be husband Brad Pitt.
When called on stage to receive the special award at Sarajevo’s National Theatre, Jolie was given a standing ovation by the audience, to which she got emotional and warned, “I will start crying if you don’t stop.”
In her debut as a movie director, Jolie chose to portray the bloody war of Bosnia that lasted from 1992-95. The movie titled “In the Land of Blood and Honey” is scheduled for a worldwide release later this year.
The movie business is not the only reason why she is loved in Bosnia so much. Her work in the troubled country as an ambassador for the U.N.’s refugee agency UNHCR has also earned her many plaudits.
Festival director Mirsad Purivatra gave the Oscar-winning actress a heart shaped memorabilia and a glowing tribute. Hugh Hefner is very touchy on the subject of his sex life and he has made it clear that any abuse directed towards him will not be simply ignored.
Earlier this week, the 85-year old’s ex-fiancé Crystal Harris insulted him on the Howard Stern show by saying that sex with Hef lasts ‘like two seconds.’ He immediately refuted Harris’s claims and tweeted that she lied about their relationship (although he deleted that tweet later on).
Some of Hef’s reputation was restored when Harris retracted her statement about the Playboy supremo’s sex life and Hef also seemed to have forgiven her, as evident by this message on Twitter: “I think Crystal told Howard Stern what he wanted to hear.”
But as soon as that episode was over, Hef came back boasting about his sex life. On Friday, he told his army of Twitter followers that he had sex with Harris on regular basis before their breakup. “For the record, I have sex on a weekly basis. And I did throughout my two-and-a-half years with Crystal,” he claimed.
