Katie Couric was a guest host on ‘The View’ yesterday and after a pleasant chat with the girls about fashion, Katis confessed she’d like to ‘castrate’ Miley Cyrus.

Kate, 54, explained she’d seen a photo of Miley smoking a cigarette and thought that set a bad example for the singer’s thousands of fans. As a mother herself she considers Miley a bad influence on young minds.

Then Whoopi Goldberg woke up. She’s also a smoker and told Katie she didn’t consider herself a bad influence on children and should be free to pursue a few grown-up indulgences, just as 18-year old Miley should.

As you can see on the clip, Katie seems taken aback by the rebuttal and tries to regroup;

“I’m not gonna castrate Miley Cyrus, but …” she began, and was cut short by Joy Behar who wondered what Katie thought was part of Miley’s physique.

Then Barbara Walters caps them all with an offer of counseling…

I like Katie but maybe she should stick to reading an auto-cue. Thinking and talking don’t go too well.
