Earlier this week a silly rumor started to make the rounds that insisted that new parents Beyoncé Knowles and Jay-Z chose Oprah Winfery and Jay‘s BFF Tyran Ty Ty Smith to be godparents to their newborn baby girl Blue Ivy. Today we learn, sadly, that the rumor is not true … well, at least half of the rumor isn’t true. Oprah‘s BFF Gayle King has denied the report that Oprah will be godmother to Blue Ivy. Contrary to previous reports, Oprah Winfrey is not a godmother to Beyonce Knowles’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter. On Friday, January 27, Winfrey’s close friend Gayle King set the record straight on “CBS This Morning”, saying, “It’s absolutely not true that she’s the godmother.” “She’s friends with them, of course, and likes them both very much.
