Once they hit a certain age, many Disney stars break out and try to prove that they’re not kids anymore. The latest star to do so is Demi Lovato – the 19-year-old singer and actress recently took part in a photo shoot with photographer Tyler Shields. Shields said the goal of the shoot was, “to show that Demi is all grown up from her Disney days and is a really beautiful and powerful woman now.” He definitely accomplished his goal with the pictures of Lovato licking a lollipop and smashing a mirror, which Shields also believe shows that she “can be a real force of nature.” Demi was “really excited” about the images and couldn’t wait for them to be released to the public “so that her fans could see a different side to her.”  Between Demi’s excitement and the many emails the photographer received from her “dedicated fans,” he finally posted the shoot on his website.

Demi Lovato’s most recent photo shoot shows off a much racier side of her. Here are a few other stars that have also been thrown into the spotlight for starring in risqué photo shoots at a young age.

Dakota Fanning

Dakota Fanning has been criticized for several images deemed inappropriate for a 17-year-old. She starred in a Marc Jacobs perfume ad campaign for which she was photographed with a bottle of the fragrance between her legs. More recently, her cover of the February 2012 issue of Cosmopolitan was considered too sexualized for a teenager.

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus posed topless for a Vanity Fair photo shoot in 2008 when she was just 15 years old. Cyrus and photographer Annie Leibovitz thought the photos were “artistic” and “classic,” but Miley later stated that she was embarrassed by the images.
