Is Fandango A Homewrecker? Movietickets.com Suing AMC Theatres!
Posted by
Major movie dramz!!!
Earlier today, Movietickets.com joined a lawsuit against AMC, which was recently filed in Florida by National Amusements and Hollywood Media Corp.
According to the lawsuit, AMC "breached its contract by not selling tickets exclusively through Movietickets.com."
Here's what Movietickets.com had to say about their decision to sue AMC:
"Despite exhaustive efforts by MovieTickets.com to resolve the dispute among the founding shareholders, AMC disabled its ticketing inventory from MovieTickets.com. This is the first time MovieTickets has ever sued anyone. The company is fully prepared to take all necessary action to protect its rights, the value and integrity of the MovieTickets.com service."
To add insult to injury, AMC has JUST announced that they'll be adding 3,000 screens to their partnership with Fandango online ticketing service. Ouch.
If AMC is actually in breach of contract, then they should definitely pay up! Guess we'll see what happens...
P.S. This reminded us of those Movietickets.com commercials from back in the day! Anyone else remember those? "To buy a ticket, just click it."
P.P.S. Do those commercials still play anywhere? Figured we'd double check before people say that those are still around. Ha!
