The River Debuts To Weak Ratings!

Well, it's a good thing that Steven Spielberg also has Smash!
The famous director is serving as exeutive producer on the new musical series, as well the midseason replacement ABC horror show The River, but apparently, the ratings for the latter's two-hour series premiere last night were less than stellar!
The series managed to garner around 8.2 million viewers and a 2.5 demo rating during the 9pm spot, but by the second part at 10pm, it was down to 6.8 and a 2.2!
Who knows, though? Maybe it just needs a few weeks to get word of mouth going and attract more of an audience!
That, or it will sink without a trace!
