Kodak To Stop Making Money Digital Cameras
Posted by Perez Hilton

Hard times have fallen on everyone. Now, the once premiere camera company is to stop doing what they were the first to ever do: make digital cameras.

Yeah, there's a piece of history for you. Kodak actually produced the first digital camera in 1975, before most of you who are reading this were even born! Of course, we've come along way since then and sadly, it seems Kodak's competition has gotten the better of them.

The bankrupt printing and imaging company made the official announcement today that it's digital camera, pocket video camera and digital picture frame divisions will be phased out and closed by July. The decision was not an easy one to come to, but in an effort to "focus on profitable lines of business," it had to be done. However, while Kodak themselves will no longer be producing digital cameras, plans to license out their name to other manufacturers is in the works.

A real sign of the times. A rough road to head down, but hopefully, it will all turn out for the best for Kodak's team.
