Padma Speaks Out On Custody Battle

This morning, we reported the saddening news that Padma Lakshmi find herself in a bitter custody battle with baby daddy Adam Dell. Adam reportedly filed for full custody this week throwing a huge wrench in their ongoing negotiations.

A rep for Padma has come forward with a statement from the Top Chef star in response to this latest development. The rep explains:

"Ms. Lakshmi believes that family matters should be kept private. She asks that those who join her in wanting the best for her daughter do the same. 24 hours after the New York Post was told about Adam Dell's lawsuit, neither Padma Lakshmi nor her lawyers has received a copy of it; they only learned of it through a statement Mr. Dell provided to the press. Ms. Lakshmi's sole interest lies in preserving the privacy and welfare of her daughter and in working out and fair and amicable agreement out of the media's glare."

Sorry, but it doesn't sound like that is going to possible, not with your ex's big mouth.

We hope you two will find a way to settle this civilly though, for the baby's sake.

Baby Daddy Dramaz For Padma Lakshmi

Poor kid! Thankfully, she’s to young to realize her parents are at WAR!

Top Chef star Padma Lakshmi is having some, oh let’s say, communication issues with her baby’s father, Adam Dell. This week, Adam upped his game and filed paperwork to get custody of their daughter, 11-month-old daughter, Krishna Thea Lakshmi. As it stands, he already gets 9 days a month with her, but that simply isn’t enough for him.

Sources explain that the couple was meant to settle on a new custody arrangement once Krishna turns a year old. However, negotiations fell apart and now Adam is playing hardball to get want he wants. He’s complained to the courts that Padma only gives him seven hours a week to spend with the baby, but Padma’s camp insists she has never denied him a day of visitation. There’s also some talk that this custody battle is all a ruse and that what Adam’s really after is a fresh start with Padma. He’s insistent that the pair should start a relationship, but Padma just isn’t having it. She’s told friends that she simply wants nothing to do with him, not even child support!

Adam Dell Trying To Get Back In Padma Lakshmi’s Life!

It's getting ugly!

Adam Dell recently revealed himself to be the father of Padma Lakshmi's newborn, Krishna, and now is actively trying to become a part of his daughter's life.

However, the Top Chef hostess if having NONE of it!

A source says:

"Her relationship with Dell was nothing more than an on-again, off-again fling. She moved on months ago. The only role he will have in her life going forward is as the biological father of her child. She wants nothing more to do with him. Adam … signed an agreement spelling out visitation and should live by it. Padma is."

Eek. Although we think it would be nice if both parents could actively be involved, if he signed away his rights to his child, it's not cool that he's trying to backtrack now.

Padma Lakshmi’s Babydaddy Ain’t Messin’ Around!

We reported earlier that Padma Lakshmi finally revealed the name of her newborn's biological father, but insisted that they agreed he would have a limited role in her life.

Now it seems that the daddy, Adam Dell, is no longer happy with this arrangement and he is pulling out the big guns to fight. Adam has hired the best-of-the-best in lawyers, Bill Zabel, to represent him as he forges ahead with plans to have more visitation with his child.

Wonder how many phone calls his brother, billionaire computer wiz Michael Dell, had to make to get this to happen?!

But even with the legal champ in his corner, Adam may have a long fight ahead of him. Padma's people stand firm that the two had an "agreement" concerning his child that he can not go back on.

And so the war begins…

Padma Lakshmi Does Not Want You Messing with Her Baby and Other Warnings [Gossip Roundup]

Last October when we learned that model and Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi was pregs with her first child the identity of the father was not disclosed. In February when Padma gave birth to a baby girl she named Krishna Thea, we still didn’t know who the father is. Just about a week ago, we got our first look at little Miss Krishna and STILL we didn’t know who the father is … but today, The New York Post (by way of People magazine) puts that mystery to rest. According to the mag, the father of Krishna Thea is an investment banker dude named Adam Dell. Padma Lakshmi recently gave birth to her daughter, Krishna, and now her babydaddy, Adam Dell, is having some issues with his limited role as a parent!

A source claims that Dell has attempted to get visitation rights, weekends, and vacations with Krishna, but "Padma wasn't being entirely accommodating."

A friend on Team Padma claims, however:

"An agreement was made with the biological father that was very fair. It's unfortunate if anything inappropriate is being said."
