Ben Roethlisberger Settles Civil Suit Over Rape Allegations

Ben Roethlisberger, quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, was accused of sexual assault by a Lake Tahoe hotel employee a while ago.

They have finally just reached a settlement in the case.

The woman's lawyer said:

"The matter has been resolved and I have no further comment."

The original lawsuit was looking for a minimum of $440,000 in damages from Roethlisberger.

So far, Roethlisberger or his lawyer have declined to comment on the whole situation or how much they settled for.

It seems like this has been going on forever, we're sure everyone involved is just glad this is all finally over.

Better be on your best behavior, Ben.

Ben Roethlisberger Settles Andrea McNulty Rape Lawsuit; Terms Not Disclosed

Ben Roethlisberger has settled the lawsuit filed against him by Andrea McNulty in 2009 - the first of two incidents in which he was accused of sexual assault.

The civil lawsuit filed by McNulty, a former Lake Tahoe casino host, claiming the NFL star raped her while he was in town for a golf tournament in 2008.

Neither side will say if Andrea McNulty was paid in the settlement.

McNulty filed the suit in Washoe District Court in 2009, claiming Roethlisberger lured her into his Harrah's penthouse suite and forced her to have sex.

The suit also named a list of Harrah's employees, claiming they covered up the alleged sexual assault to protect the Pittsburgh Steelers superstar.

McNulty's lawyer, Cal Dunlap, refused to discuss the terms of the case. Roethlisberger's lawyer, David Cornwell, and his agent, also had no comment.

McNulty claimed Roethlisberger asked her to come to his suite to fix his broken television, only to force her onto the bed and rape her, the suit said.

Lawyers for Roethlisberger denied the claims, and the casino denied covering it up. McNulty was accused by some of trying to extort money from him.

The 65,000-seat stadium was dressed up to serve as the base of the Gotham Rogues team and Steelers fans working as extras wore supporters gear for the fictional team. Even Ben Roethlisberger was enthused by his chance to try acting;

“From what I’ve heard, it’s going to be like a pre-game, warm-up type thing,” the quarterback told reporters.

Local station WPIX also caught the action on August 3rd during a fight scene between the Gotham City Police and inmates at the Arkham Asylum.

Christian Bale’s Batman exchanged several staged blows with his arch rival, Bane, played by Tom Hardy, and thousands of extras joined in. The weather was unseasonably warm but the script called for full winter wardrobe, so production assistants were busy passing out water between takes.

Ben Roethlisberger to Marry Ashley Harlan July 23

It's still unclear why Ashley Harlan is marrying Ben Roethlisberger. But one thing is now known to all: the couple's wedding date. The couple will get hitched on July 23.

"It's just an engagement," the quarterback told The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in his first interview on the topic. "I never expected it to be on the front pages of all the papers and websites. There was speculation what our invitations would look like and who is coming! It almost seemed surreal, it was like a movie or something, it was weird."

Also weird, to some? Why anyone would marry the Steelers star after multiple accusations of sexual assault.

But over 500 guests are expected to attend and Ben is serious about a no-present policy. He intends to donate any gifts to Ronald McDonald House and Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.

Roethlisberger and Harlan have dated on and off for five years. He's aware of many comments people have on the nuptials.
