New Marc Cherry Drama Ordered To Pilot!

Published on February 1, 2012 By

Don't worry, Desperate Housewives fans!

The series may be coming to an end this year, but creator Marc Cherry has a brand new one in the works that was just ordered to pilot for ABC! And it pretty much sounds exactly the same - except with maids, this time!

According to the one-hour drama's logline:

"Devious Maids"

Based on the Mexican format, this soap follows four maids with ambition and dreams of their own while they work for the rich and famous in Beverly Hills. Written and executive produced by Marc Cherry through ABC Studios. Sabrina Wind is also attached to executive produce.

Breaking that story must have been a real stretch for him, huh?

We kid! We kid!

It actually could be very different, and very good! Or at least trashy and addictive!

But we think it deserves a better title!

How about U??

Me-Ow! Sex & The City Executive Producer VS Desperate Housewives Creator!!

Snap, snap!!

Looks like the men behind two of the most fabulous television series are putting their paws up, baby!!

When Desperate Housewives' creator Marc Cherry was asked whether or not he'd ever turn Wisteria Lane into a movie, he totally clawed at Sex and the City!!

Cherry said:

I'm never sending these gals to Dubai. That's all I'm saying. Sex and the City only did, I think, a total of something like 69 episodes. So I always thought that the advantage for them was that they had they hadn't really plumbed the depths of those characters.

Uhmmm.... ouch!!

Did he forget that while the quantity might be smaller than his ABC hit, the six seasons of SatC were written and crafted by a staff employed by HBO??? You know, quality TV mecca???

Of course, Sex EP Michael Patrick King responded with his own backhanded burn:

I don't think he has ever made a feature film, so I don't know if he knows what that entails, but the reality is my second movie made almost half a billion dollars. It's fine.

The reality is I've moved on from that. I'm doing a new show (2 Broke (Read more...)

Marc Cherry Will Walk Down Wistera Lane, But Won’t Make A Desperate Movie

Are you watching the final season of Desperate Housewives? Good, because that is the last you are ever going to see of these ladies in one place again.

During the show's TCA panel this week, Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry two very important things for long-standing fans. First, he has decided to make good on his promise and make cameo in his show's series finale. He wouldn't reveal how or what character he would be playing, but he referenced the bit being very Hitchcock, so you might actually have to keep your eyes peeled to find him.

Secondly, he confirmed that after much consideration, he's decided that there won't be a Desperate Housewives movie in the near (or ever) future. He explained that after eight years, he feels "satisfied" with the way things have worked out and more so, his vision for the final scenes of the series have come to pass and he wouldn't want to screw with that. (Also, he said, “And I’m just never sending any of these gals to Dubai." LOL)

Everything has a beginning and an end. We're sure whatever closure Marc gives his ladies will be good enough for fans. He has enough (Read more...)

Eva Longoria Goes Behind The Camera! Sells Legal Drama To The CW!

Between this deal and her great new BF, things are really looking up for Eva!

We've just learned that Eva Longoria has sold a one-hour legal drama entitled Vega v. Vega to The CW.

The show is about "a brilliant, young, successful lawyer who suddenly finds herself forced to go into a practice with her mother, a pioneering female attorney with whom she has a love/hate relationship."

Vega is being written/executive produced by Pan Am/Dirty Sexy Money's Yahlin Chang. It's also being executive produced by Desperate Housewives' George W. Perkins, Sunta Izzicupo, and Ms. Longoria herself.

Sounds like a good fit for The CW! We'll be sure to check this one out when it premieres!

Good luck, Eva!

The end is near!

After eight years, the ladies of Desperate Housewives will be soon be desperate for a new job, and castmember Marcia Cross, who has played Bree Van de Kamp for the series' entirety, has opened up about leaving Wristeria Lane for good!

Ch-ch-check out the video (above)!

Sad! But eight seasons is a solid run, and we always think it's best to go out on your own terms!

Such a bittersweet good-bye!

We'll miss you, ladies!

Dana Delany And Kyle Maclachan Find Their Way Back On Desperate Housewives!

It's kind of sad, isn't it? We won't be able to watch the fictionalized lives of middle-aged women and their schemes anymore now that Desperate Housewives is ending.

Oh wait! How much longer til Real Housewives of Beverly Hills gets the boot? Okay, false alarm everyone! We're just seeing the end of Wisteria Lane, that's all. You know, just the inspiration for the real housewives.

But with the end comes some great things! Like the return of Kyle MacLachlan as Orson, Dana Delany as Katherine, and Andrea Brown as little Julie!

The finale is set for May 2012 and Bob Daily made damn sure three of the series' best characters would have their final hoorah. And thank goodness!

Nothing like a little sexy drama to add to Eva Longoria's perfect life!

P.S! If U live in Los Angeles or plan on visiting before the summer, U should definitely check out Universal Studio's tour. You can see Wisteria Lane in all of its glory!

Desperate Housewives/The Event actor Roger Bart Is Coming To Revenge!

Published on November 17, 2011 By

Perez Hilton

This should be interesting!

Last month, we were excited to hear that ABC had picked up its new show Revenge for a full season!

It's a good thing they did, because now we'll get to see Desperate Housewives/The Event actor Roger Bart join the show in an AWESOME guest starring role!

Bart will play Mason Treadwell, a "rich, pretentious journalist who’s written a tell-all book about Long Island high society." We're also hearing that the character "considers himself a literary journalist and his home is filled with mementos of the famous celebrities he’s interviewed."

This should be pret-ty great. Bart is always wonderful on TV...and of course we love his Broadway stuff too! He was HIGHlarious in Young Frankenstein!

Can't wait!

Pan Am Continues At A Steady Altitude In The Ratings

Published on November 7, 2011 By

But staying the course isn't going to do them any favors. They need to start making a splash in the ratings if they are going to have any hope of staying in flight on ABC.

Christina Ricci's Pan Am, while getting a five episode order last week, is still in danger of getting canned, drawing 5.24 mil last night with a 1.8 rating. Par the course, but not stellar enough to guarntee it's safety.

Meanwhile, ABC's other freshman drama Once Upon A Time held up, with 11.4 million total viewers and a 3.7 rating, tying with The Simpsons. Finally, Desperate Housewives isn't going out with such a bang, bringing in only 8.7 million and a 2.8 rating. They could do much better.

Still, could be worse....

Eva Longoria Is NOT Hooking Up With Another B-Ball Player

We think gurlfriend has learned her lesson on that one.

Over the weekend, sources specualted that Eva Longoria was moving on from Tony Parker with a new man, but fellow basketball star: L.A. Lakers Forward Matt Barnes.

Page Six reported seeing the pair acting "very flirty" while after dinner in NYC with two other friends. Supposedly, there was a spark between them that could not be denied.

However, Eva didn't take too kind to this speculation and shared her thoughts via her WhoSay page, saying:

"First Jessica Simpson, now this. Once again, press gets it wrong, Matt barnes and I are not dating! We are doing a charity event together for Padres and Athletes vs Cancer."

Didn't know you were such a fan of Jessica Simps' and her unborn child! Good to know she's got some support still in the biz!

But she's right about Matt. There's no way they are hooking up. If you knew your stuff, you'd be aware that Eva's been with Eduardo Cruz for the better part of this year. You know, Penelope Cruz's hot younger brother.

Sorry, Matt! There's just no competing with that!
