MTV Decides NOT To Air Lauren ‘LC’ Conrad’s New TV Show

Sad news for those of you hoping to see former Hills star Lauren LC Conrad back on MTV … cuz MTV decided to pass on her new TV show and will NOT be airing it at all. As you may recall, we saw photos back in November of LC filming scenes for her new show but, alas, MTV decided … Nah, no thanks.

Last fall, MTV announced that it was reuniting with Lauren Conrad, star of the network’s Laguna Beach and The Hills, for another reality series focused on the young star’s burgeoning fashion line. But EW has EXCLUSIVELY learned that the Conrad series has been passed on by the network. “We decided not to go ahead with the show,” says David Janollari, EVP, Head of Programming for MTV. “She did do a pilot. There were talks about whether we could somehow manage to put together a special based on that footage but that’s also a big question mark based on her interest in that and the finances. We love her! We would love her on our network!” The proposed series was not a glossy reality soap like The Hills but much more documentary style. It was also noticeably absent (Read more...)

Brace yourselves, indie filmmakers. Sundance just got REAL.

The Hollywood Reporter's reporting that Oprah Winfrey is readying her jet to whisk her off to the Sundance Film Festival. Rumor has it the Big O is going to be some scouting for material to air on her new network, OWN.

Specifically, she's in the market for some documentaries and "smaller productions" to join her lineup of projects with stars like Julia Roberts.

Imagine the luck. You'd go to Sundance, just hoping someone will like your movie. Then BAM, Oprah buys it and you can now throw a sticker on the DVD cover that says "Oprah Approved."

Who could ask for anything more!

oprah offers tv show to bono

Oprah has been inviting lots of celebrities to host talk shows and to develop documentaries for her new OWN Network.

One unlikely star she approached about a TV show was U2 rocker Bono.

Here's the question she posed to Bono at a recent dinner:

“Would you like a TV show?”

Looks like Bono has passed on the opportunity, but who knows? Maybe he'll change his mind, and if not, maybe she can get another rock star.

What rock star would U like to see host a talk show for Oprah?

Wow! There are always snubs, but these are pretty brutal!

The Academy Awards have announced their short list for Documentary Feature, and despite there being fifteen films in contention, they've not only excluded the much-talked about 'is it or isn't it real?' Catfish, but also the AMAZING Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work!

This really does suck, not just because we LOVE Joan, but because we truly believe that her documentary was fascinating - and SO well-made!

Lame!

Watch: ‘Lindsay Lohan’s Indian Journey’

Published on April 6, 2010 By

Pink Is The New Blog

In January we got our first look at a new BBC documentary titled Lindsay Lohan’s Indian Journey which features the young actress traveling to India to report on the heinous child trafficking that goes on there … becuase, when you think of child trafficking, you think of Lindsay Lohan? As a result of Lindsay’s visit to India, which was kinda handled illegally, she faces a ban from the country and may never get to visit again. But, for all of her trouble, we might as well see the fruits of her labor. So … I present to you, in fully, Lindsay Lohan’s Indian Journey:

If you would like to see the rest of the documentary, you can watch parts 2 – 6 in full, after the jump …

Yeah … I didn’t really watch the entire thing … it’s just weird hearing her talk about such a serious issue. I’m still dumbfounded as to why the venerable BBC decided to team up with L. Lo for this doc but … hopefully their good work will have some positive results. Did you watch this whole thing? What do YOU think of Lindsay’s new role as humanitarian?
