Federal Appeals Court Ready To Announce Their Ruling On Prop 8! TODAY!

It's about time!

After a year delay, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has announced that a three-judge panel will announce today its ruling on whether or not the ban on same-sex marriage in California, known as Proposition 8, bans the constitutional rights of gays and lesbians!

Apparently, the panel held off on the decision as they wanted to be informed by the California Supreme Court as to the legality of the Prop 8 sponsors authority to challenge the trial judge's ruling that it was unconstitutional to begin with!

Doesn't seem like that much of a question to us, but okay!

We also know that regardless of the decision today, both sides will be ready to appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court, but we sincerely hope that this panel realizes what a disgusting infringement on basic human rights this ban truly is!

Gang Viciously Attacks Man In Skinny Jeans And Calls Him A F***ott

This is beyond appalling.

A gang is Atlanta targeting a male wearing skinny jeans when he walked out of a store.

He is then viciously attacked and repeatedly called faggot as the gang yells, "no faggots in Jack City."

They even have the nerve throw a tire at him!

Atlanta police are investigating the beating and are looking for any crimes reported that are similar to the attack.

These a**holes need to be reprimanded for the hate crime they just committed.

Watch the horrible video above as a reminder that we need to STOP this!

Dear New Hampshire…THIS SUCKS!

Yuck. So much for the "live free" portion of the state slogan.

New Hampshire's House Judiciary Committee held a hearing last night regarding HB 1264, which is a bill that would allow businesses that do not support marriage equality to DENY services to same-sex couples - or any kind, for that matter - based on their religious values, AND would protect them from a civil claim of action for such!

It reads:

Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no person, including a business owner or employee thereof, shall be required to provide services, accommodations, advantages, facilities, goods, or privileges to an individual if the request is related to the solemnization, celebration, or promotion of a marriage and providing such services, accommodations, advantages, facilities, goods, or privileges would be a violation of the person’s conscience or religious faith.

A person’s refusal to provide services, accommodations, advantages, facilities, goods, or privileges in accordance with this section shall not create any civil claim or cause of action or result in any state action to penalize or withhold benefits from such person.

Absolutely despicable that something this ignorant and discriminatory would even get as far to warrant a hearing!

Here's hoping that the federal (Read more...)

Washington State Governor Chris Gregoire Supports Gay Marriage, Wants It Legalized!

Such a proud day for Washington state!

Although she has never been clear on her stance before, Governor Chris Gregoire announced yesterday that she not only supports gay and lesbians to marry, but will propose legislation to legalize it!

She explains:

"It's right here [points to heart] that frees me up to do this. I have not liked where I've been for seven years. I have sorted it out in my head and in my heart. I have been on my own journey. I will admit that. It has been a battle for me with my religion. I have always been uncomfortable with the position that I have taken publicly. And then I came to realize the religions can decide what they want to do but it is not OK for the state to discriminate. When someone asks me about my marriage to Mike, I don't tell them I have a contract with legal rights. I don't even think about that. What I say is I love my husband. I'm in a 36-year committed relationship. ... That's what marriage really means to human beings. They (gays and lesbians) have to have the same ability to say it's love, it's commitment, (Read more...)

Awful! Gay Teen Suspended From High School For Wearing Make-up!

This is just DREADFUL!

Check out this news report on 16-year-old Kasey Landrum, a gay teen from Tennessee who was suspended from Lexington High School for wearing eye make-up, even though other punk rock kids do the same with consequence (above)!

Thankfully, after the story was caught wind of by The Tennessee Equality Project and LGBTQNation, Kasey's suspension was reversed and a new school policy, allowing all students to wear make-up, was put into place!

As it should have been!

Unless there was a strict dress code in place, which there clearly wasn't, these kids need the ability to express themselves and who they are, REGARDLESS of sexual preference!

Kris Jenner To Talk About Kim’s Split Tomorrow On Today!

Published on November 1, 2011 By

Why buckle down together as a family privately when there's money to be made?!

Only a day after announcing her divorce from Kris Humphries, Kim Kardashian has jetted off to Australia to give her first post-marriage interview, and it appears that momager Kris Jenner will be appearing on The Today Show tomorrow to discuss the tragedy!

According to a source, Jenner also demanded that her daughter's divorce be announced yesterday, as to ensure that there would be coverage in the weekly magazines, which go to deadlines on Monday.

Oh, good! We guess you needed to add a little more to that $17 million you've already made off that 'fairytale wedding', huh?

Now since you all have insulted this country's intelligence enough, how much of that will be going toward the fight for equal rights??

"After gaining the incredible platform from 'Glee,' it wasn't so much of a decision to get involved as it was an opportunity to take part. I'll be honest, I'm not so much into the idea of one cause being more important than another; however, I felt that the Trevor Project was a perfect fit for my efforts. It stands for a lot of things that I believe in, as well as falls in line with much of what 'Glee' stands for."

Jamey Rodemeyer Inspired Zachary Quinto To Come Out!

Published on October 17, 2011 By

We couldn't be more proud of him.

Zachary Quinto only just announced yesterday that he is, in fact, a gay man, and took to his blog not only discuss how Jamey Rodemeyer, the young teen who killed himself only months after filming a video for the It Gets Better project, influenced his decision to go public, but also continue the worldwide fight to end bigotry and homophobia!

He writes:

when i found out that jamey rodemeyer killed himself - i felt deeply troubled. but when i found out that jamey rodemeyer had made an it gets better video only months before taking his own life - i felt indescribable despair. i also made an it gets better video last year - in the wake of the senseless and tragic gay teen suicides that were sweeping the nation at the time. but in light of jamey's death - it became clear to me in an instant that living a gay life without publicly acknowledging it - is simply not enough to make any significant contribution to the immense work that lies ahead on the road to complete equality. our society needs to recognize the unstoppable momentum toward unequivocal civil equality (Read more...)
