Watch: SpaceX Launches The First Privately Owned Spacecraft Into Space

Back in July we watched live as Space Shuttle Atlantis returned to Earth from outer space for the last time ever as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration brought to an end (at least for the foreseeable future) to the US space program. Today, the private sector picks up where NASA left off with the launch of the first privately owned spacecraft into space. Space Exploration Technologies successfully launched the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket this morning that will transport Space Capsule Dragon into space for docking with the International Space Station currently orbiting Earth. Space Exploration Technologies, the first company aiming to reach the International Space Station, got off to a rocking start early Tuesday with the launch of its Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. The 178-foot tall rocket, which carried a Dragon cargo capsule, lifted off at 3:44 a.m. EDT, arcing out over the Atlantic Ocean as it headed to a preliminary orbit about 200 miles above Earth. Watch: ‘Skyfall’ Releases A First Movie Trailer

A few days ago we got our first look at the first movie poster released for the forthcoming James Bond film Skyfall. Today, we get to check out the just-released first trailer for the film. As you may know, Skyfall is the 23rd Bond film and it stars, once again, Daniel Craig as super agent 007. Click below to get your FIRST LOOK at Skyfall.

OOOOH … Bond is angry. It would seem that Skyfall is the code name for a mission that Bond isn’t too happy about. It’s unclear if it’s a mission that he has already completed or will be required to complete but it sounds exciting. As I’ve said many times before, Daniel Craig is my favorite James Bond. I gotta give much respect to Sean Connery but Danny boy is my man. I’m very much looking forward to seeing him in action when Skyfall hits theaters in November. Looks good, right?

Watch: The First Trailer For River Phoenix’s Last Film ‘Dark Blood’ Has Been Released

Last October we learned that the last film that River Phoenix completed before his untimely death in 1993 was in the process of being released and today we get to see the first trailer for the film, Dark Blood, in full. While no official theatrical release has been announced just yet, Dark Blood will be screened at a Dutch film festival in the Fall. Honestly, it’s really very eerie to see new Phoenix film footage after all these years, especially in this dark film but if you’re curious … you can check out the trailer in full below.

As I understand it, Dark Blood was scheduled for release in 1994 but Phoenix died just 11 days before the end of production in late 1993. The film has remained unfinished all these years … until director George Sluizer decided to finish the film and, apparently, release it. Watch: Gary Barlow Releases A Music Video For The Official Diamond Jubilee Single ‘Sing’

Former Take That member Gary Barlow teamed up with Andrew Lloyd Weber to pen the official Diamond Jubilee single Sing which will honor the 50th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth, II‘s reign as British monarch. Barlow enlisted folks from the entire United Kingdom to perform on the track … including Prince Harry. Altho Harry doesn’t sing on the song, he does provide the tambourine. Prince Harry is featured in a single that will be released to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Although he refused to sing on the track, former Take That star Gary Barlow did manage to persuade him to bang a tambourine. The track, called Sing, was written by Barlow and composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and also features the chart-topping Military Wives. When it is released later this month it is expected to be the first chart single to feature a specially-recorded member of the Royal Family. Harry recorded his contribution while he was visiting Jamaica – also one of the stopping points when Barlow travelled to various Commonwealth countries to compile the song. (Read more...)

Watch: The Milo Ventimiglia Thriller ‘Static’ Releases A New Poster & Trailer

This Summer actors Milo Ventimiglia, Sarah Shahi and Sara Paxton will star in a thriller (horror?) film titled Static that was filmed entirely in 3D. Now, 3D films aren’t anything new but most films that feature 3D are not filmed in 3D and only have the effect added in post production. Static was filmed entirely in 3D (which means the effect will look much better in theaters) … so all of the unsettling action that takes place in the film will actually almost reach out and touch us in the audience. Britney Spears, a celebrity with one of the most successful fragrance lines, will be releasing a new perfume offering this Fall. Set for release in September and timed to coincide with her debut as judge on The X Factor, Britney will be releasing a fragrance called Fantasy Twist. This new offering is not a new smell, tho. It’s a bottle that will house Britney‘s Fantasy perfume on one side and Midnight Fantasy on the other. You get two classic Britney perfumes in one stylish new bottle.

I understand Fantasy Twist will be made available in 3 sizes, including a small 30ml size that will fit perfectly in once purse or bag. I believe the idea is to offer both a day and night perfume for fans of Britney Spears’s fragrance line. Now, I’ve been very honest about my feelings on celebrity fragrances and altho I’m not a fan of even Britney’s perfumes, I do like the look of this neat bottle. First Look: ‘Skyfall’ Releases Its First Movie Poster

Back in January we got our first look at a very sexy promo photo for the upcoming 23rd James Bond film titled Skyfall. In February, we got to see the second Skyfall promo photo. Today we get to check out the film’s first movie poster. As you can see below, this new movie poster bears a striking resemblance to many previous James Bond movie posters. It’s very classic, very Bond. Check it out.

Meh. While I like my James Bond wearing much less (er, at least when Daniel Craig is playing him, that is) I don’t mind this classic poster. The suit, the gun, the swirling abyss … it’s all very … familiar. Honestly, I’m just glad the film is being released at all. Financial difficulties almost derailed this film a few times but James Bond wins in the end (as he always does). Skyfall hits theaters in November.
