Joanna Johnson, star of The Bold and the Beautiful, has come out as a lesbian!
Way to go, Joanna! Welcome to the world outside of the closet. Enjoy the fresh air.
She was prompted to publicly come out after it was announced that she'll be playing half of a married lesbian couple. She said:
"There’s a greater intimacy between the viewers and the characters [with soap operas]. They think you are your character. And that creates a lot of fear. Fear of rejection. I was so worried I wouldn’t be employable as an actress if people knew I was a lesbian. Or that I wouldn’t be believable in romance stories. I had to deal with a lot of self-loathing."
We're so sad to hear that this was eating her up on the inside but we're so glad that she's living loud and proud!
She is married to a club promoter, Michelle Agnew and has two kids, Julian, 5, and Harlow, 2.

John Travolta and his legal team are certainly going to have a lot of explaining to do!
A FOURTH individual has reportedly come forward to accuse the actor of sexual harassment, and just like the previous three, claims that he engaged in so much "inappropriate behavior" with staff at the Peninsula Hotel's spa that he was banned for three years - until he complained to hotel officials and removed from the blacklist!
According to former employee Michael Caputo:
"Travolta would always request a man for his massage, but after a while no-one would take him. It got to the point where they couldn't find any men to take him, and they had to ban him. [He was accused of] removing his towel, grinding against the massage table and lifting his butt in the air".
Geesh! Well, if nothing else, he's consistent, isn't he?
Of course, his lawyer, Marty Singer, maintains:
"If he was banned, do you think he'd ever go back? He's never been banned, I guarantee you... The hotel never told John he was banned, and John never acted improperly."

It seems that President Obama’s historic pro-marriage equality announcement Wednesday came a tad prematurely (HAH!) due to Joe Biden’s recent pro-gay marriage remarks on Meet The Press.
The Pres. stated on Good Morning America Thursday:
"I had already made a decision that we were going to probably take this position before the election and before the convention. [Joe Biden] probably got out a little bit over his skis, but out of generosity of spirit. I would have preferred to have done this in my own way, on my own terms... all's well that ends well."
We are obviously BEYOND beaming after hearing the Pres’ position on marriage equality...
But it’s not just about giving gay and lesbian couples the same rights as straight couples, this is about the much LARGER issue of seeing each other as fellow human beings!
While we are all individuals who have vastly different tastes and preferences, we are all still members of the human race and the ONLY way to maintain peace and progress is via global, mutual respect...

After learning about the progressive announcement, the always opinionated Kim Kardashian quickly posted her support for Obama’s decision.
The reality queen wrote:
“Wow… I just heard that President Obama has officially announced that he supports gay marriage!! This is such a huge step forward in our country’s fight for civil rights and I hope that today this will give hope to so many young people across the country.
We’ve never had a president so supportive of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and today I am proud to be an American!! I’m so happy that our country is making history and moving forward. No more living in the past!”
We are proud you are proud. Let’s all be proud!
And (hopefully) now we will be free to legally share our pride with whomever we wish!

Dan Savage, writer and creator of the It Get's Better campaign, encountered a walkout during his speech at the National High School Journalist Conference in Seattle, when he said, "We can learn to ignore the bull---t in the Bible about gay people."
Knowing Savage as we do, we know he wasn't saying Christianity was bullish** or that religion in general is bullish**. He was merely pointing out that certain aspects of the Bible are outdated and simply wrong -- specifically anti-gay sentiments -- which makeup perhaps .00009% of the text.

Savage later called the walk-out "pansy-a**ed" which, from someone who helms an anti-bullying campaign, is obviously a very negative thing to say.
But Savage has since apologized for his "pansy" remark, claiming he was calling the act itself "pansy-assed" and not the students. He goes on to say:

Cyndi Lauper is going to be honored by the US government for her support of the LGBT community!
Specifically, the US Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration is honoring her for co-founding the True Colors Fund, which encourages people of all sexual orientations to help the LGBT community.
She's going to be given the prize by the US Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius on National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day in Washington, D.C. on May 9.
So not only is she a timeless singer, she also is a fighter for human rights!
LBGT issues aren't only for the LGBT community, they affect everyone so her trying to involve people of all sexual orientations is a great step froward towards widespread tolerance.
