Torchwood: Miracle Day, the first season of the long-running British series produced and filmed in the US, is doing very well on the Starz network but back in the motherland of the UK, it’s hit a bit of a snag. BBC censors have determined that the same-sex love scene that involves Captain Jack Harkness (played by lead John Barrowman) and a male bartender is too racy for broadcast — so they have cut the scene from the upcoming episode. Barrowman has gone on the record to express his disappointment at the BBC‘s decision to censor the scene. Read what he has to say about the censorship below … and check out a few HOT if kinda NSFW screencaps of the same-sex love scene in question below.

JOHN Barrowman has clashed with the BBC by defending Torchwood’s axed explicit gay sex scene – saying it was NOT gratuitous. The gay actor, who plays bisexual Jack Harkness, had filmed a romp with a barman for the current series. TV Biz told this week how bosses cut it, fearing a viewers’ backlash. But Barrowman insisted the scene was vital to the plot, saying: “It’s not gratuitous sex, it facilitates (Read more...)
Not cool, BBC!
The highly-popular UK series Torchwood featured a sex scene involving bisexual alien-hunter, played by gay actor John Barrowman, and a male bartender that was ultimately cut by the British channel.
Ironically, the scene remained intact on the U.S. airing of the show.
A show source said, "You can get away with scenes like that on American cable channels, but you can't on prime-time BBC1."
Um, really? Isn't the UK supposed to be much more liberal when it comes to nudity on television in comparison to the U.S.? Hmm, seems a little shady and possibly homophobic. Let's hope not!
Well, in the meantime, look at the pretty pictures of John and his co-star below!

And that includes John Barrowman!
The Scottish-born actor has said he would love to play one of character Rachel Berry's dads on Glee!
"I have no idea if I'll be in it," John says. "I met with their casting people and I said I'd love to be in it - I'd be good as one of Rachel's gay dads."
Creator Ryan Murphy has thought about keeping Rachel's dads off-camera for the series, but we think he should consider John!
Plus he's so easy on the eyes!

In January we got our first look at Buffyverse and former Dexter star Julie Benz on the ABC drama Desperate Housewives (who has since settled into her very juicy new role) and today, courtesy of After Elton, we get our first look at another newcomer to the show — John Barrowman. Barrowman, who is known for his role of Captain Jack Harkness on the BBC America series Torchwood, comes to Wisteria Lane later on this season as a baddie named Patrick. Here is one of the new promo pics of John making his appearance on DH:

We know all you John Barrowman fans have been very keyed up about the news that one of our all time favorites would be joining the cast of Desperate Housewives for six episodes as the baddie in the Angie (Drea de Matteo) storyline. We’re still a ways off from seeing John’s first episode, but we’re mighty pleased to exclusively present you the very first pictures ABC has released of John as Patrick. The woman John is with is played by Emma Crawford and if I were her character, I’d be mighty careful about who I let in (Read more...)

Does anyone even watch that show anymore?!
According to creator Marc Cherry, Drea de Matteo will be leaving Desperate Housewives in May.
But it's not a huge surprise!
"Part of the deal when we hired Drea was she was only interested in doing one season," said Cherry. "She has a baby and is eager to get back to her life in New York."
Drea's character, Angie and her family have been extremely mysterious on Wisteria Lane. Recent episodes have suggested that they are on the run and must change their names.
It's been said that the introduction of John Barrowman's character (aka the new villain) will be the one to end Angie.
Cherry promised that there will "an explosive finale" where "all the mysterious parts of her past will be revealed".
Bring it!

It doesn't sound like there are too many celebs that the hit show Glee is turning away for guest roles, so maybe he has a shot.
Torchwood star John Barrowman wants in at McKinley High and while he is in town to shoot a guest-spot on Desperate Housewives, he is also taking a meeting with Glee producers to see what they can do for him. When asked about the show, John said:
"I absolutely love the show. What would I play in it? I'm not sure what kind of character I'd like to play. Maybe I could be a teacher, you know, another teacher who comes in and helps out. That's me just kind of brainstorming, but the fact that they want to have a meeting with me is really quite nice in itself. It's so exciting!"
Sure is! We're jealous!

BBC presenter, actor and singer John Barrowman was looking like his usual seksi self as he signed copies of his self-titled album in London on Wednesday.
Loves him!

AfterElton put together a sadly hopeful little roundup of "gay" TV pilots currently in various stages of development today. It got us thinking about the current slate of gay folks on TV, and wishing for some new variations.
Though some annoying whiners might complain that there aren't enough gays on (Read more...)
