Chaz Bono Wants To Be The Next Bachelor … And We Think He Should!

Published on January 31, 2012 By

We're all about pushing boundaries and opening people up to the rest of the world, widening their scope of things and what have you. Plus, the ratings would be THROUGH THE ROOF!

Chaz Bono's been having a rough go at it in the dating scene. Since splitting with fiance Jennifer Elia in December, Cher's transgender son has been looking for love and coming up empty. While sources say that he's been out on a few dates with some "lipstick lesbians," Chaz is thinking of taking a more active approach with his love life ... by starring in a Bachelor-like reality series!

According to a source, producers have approached him about doing a dating-type show and "he is all for it," but Cher is advising him against the idea. Supposedly, she's afraid her son has become obsessed with being a "celebrity" and she is afraid that being on a reality show like this will just end in heartache and embarrassment.

Valid concerns -- but he should still do it. And he should be the ACTUAL Bachelor, not on a show like it. It's time to make America be more accepting of transgender people. If he can dance with the (Read more...)

Some People Still Think Kelly Clarkson Is A Lesbian!

Published on January 30, 2012 By

Perez Hilton

This has been going on for years!!

And every time someone brings up the hope that she's a secret lesbian, Kelly Clarkson just laughs it off... and by laugh it off, we mean she usually gives a detailed explanation that she's strictly dickly!

So when it was brought up AGAIN during a recent interview, Kelly dished:

I don’t know why people think I am. I never kiss women. I find it funny.

Also I’m such a vocal person, I’ve never hidden much. So I don’t understand why they don’t take me on my word. I find that a little bit annoying. But if people think I’m gay, I don’t really care.

I’m a kinda selfish person who right now enjoys being single, enjoys the fact that I can work as much as I do, and not really have to answer to anyone.

We believe her!! There's no reason to hide it. If anything, it would probably help her sales!

Gays Not "Mentally Healthy Adult Human Beings" According To This Clueless Tennessee Lawmaker

Published on January 26, 2012 By

Perez Hilton

This is classy: about a day after a gay teen in Tennessee committed suicide, Rep. John Ragan told one of his constituents that gay individuals are not “mentally healthy adult human beings.”

Of course, this also comes after his terribly inaccurate response to a plea from a lesbian student at Middle Tennessee State University to oppose a bill that would basically give a license to bully, who wrote:

“The threat to gay or lesbian children (yes, they do exist) or even to children rumored to be gay is quite overt. There is no mistaking that the purpose and language of this bill are to justify and defend anti-gay bullying, which has already caused too much pain and driven too many children to take their own lives.”

Beautifully put and inarguable, right?

Well, according to Ragan, homosexuality is comparable to murder, rape, overeating, and prostitution:

“Logically, homosexuality is defined by behavior, i.e., unless one engages in sexual activity with a member of the same sex, he, or she, is not a homosexual. (The term sexual orientation is a description of feelings.). Feelings do not control the behavior of a mentally healthy adult human being.

By way of emphasis, let’s examine a (Read more...)

Yay Starbucks!

Kalen Holmes, the executive VP of partner resources (and our new bff) has just sent this letter out to all of Starbucks' partners declaring their support of marriage equality!

Here's what she wrote:

Dear partners,

Starbucks is proud to join other leading Northwest employers in support of Washington State legislation recognizing marriage equality for same-sex couples. Starbucks strives to create a company culture that puts our partners first, and our company has a lengthy history of leading and supporting policies that promote equality and inclusion.

This important legislation is aligned with Starbucks business practices and upholds our belief in the equal treatment of partners. It is core to who we are and what we value as a company. We are proud of our Pride Alliance Partner Network group, which is one of the largest Employer Resource Groups for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) employees in the U.S., helping to raise awareness about issues in the communities where we live and work.

She reminded readers that for the last 20 years Starbucks has given offered medical benefits to same-sex parters -- so this shiz anti nothing new!!

She ended the letter on a optimistic note, writing,

Cynthia Nixon Speaks Out Again! Says ‘Nobody Likes The Bisexuals!’

Published on January 25, 2012 By

Perez Hilton

Seems like she's digging herself into a deeper hole here...but at least she acknowledges the harm in using the word "choice" with regards to her sexuality.

To recap - back in 2004, Cynthia Nixon came out as a lesbian and introduced the world to her partner Christine Marinoni.

Then earlier this week, she revealed that being gay was a "choice" for her, and we weren't thrilled with her choice of words.

Now, Cynthia has opened up further about her controversial comment. Here's what she had to say about it:

"I understand for political reasons why some people want to kind of squelch this idea that being gay might be a choice, because a lot of the rights we want are posited on the supposition that why are you denying me my rights any more than if I were created a different color? But I don’t feel the need to cede the definition of what a gay person is to the bigots."

And here's Cynthia on why she doesn't refer to herself as bisexual (she had a 15-year relationship with a man):

"I don’t pull out the 'bisexual' word because nobody likes the bisexuals. Everybody likes to dump on the (Read more...)

Cynthia Nixon On Being Gay: It Was A Choice

Published on January 23, 2012 By

Perez Hilton

Oh dear...

Back in 2004, Cynthia Nixon bravely came out as a lesbian and introduced the world to her partner Christine Marinoni.

In a new interview, though, Cynthia reveals that being gay was a "choice" for her.

Hmm, not sure we're satisfied with those choice of words.

The actress said:

"I gave a speech recently, an empowerment speech to a gay audience, and it included the line 'I’ve been straight and I’ve been gay, and gay is better.' And they tried to get me to change it, because they said it implies that homosexuality can be a choice. And for me, it is a choice. I understand that for many people it’s not, but for me it’s a choice, and you don’t get to define my gayness for me. A certain section of our community is very concerned that it not be seen as a choice, because if it’s a choice, then we could opt out. I say it doesn’t matter if we flew here or we swam here, it matters that we are here and we are one group and let us stop trying to make a litmus test for who is considered gay and who is not."

Kristy McNichol Comes Out As A Lesbian To Help Stop Bullying

Published on January 7, 2012 By

Perez Hilton

Good for her!

Actress Kristy McNichol has been out of the public for about 20 years, but she's bravely chosen to come out to try to help kids who are being bullied.

The Family and Empty Nest star decided to make an official statement about her sexuality not only because she is "approaching 50," but she wants to "be open about who I am" and "is very sad about kids being bullied."

Her rep says:

"She hopes that coming out can help kids who need support. She would like to help others who feel different.

She is very happy and healthy. And she enjoys living a very private life."

Kristy has lived with her partner Martie Allen for the past two decades and focuses on improving her health by doing yoga, playing tennis, traveling, and raising her miniature dachshunds.

It's great to hear that she's so happy and healthy - and what a wonderful message to country's youths who are struggling with being who they truly are.

We applaud Kristy for her brave statement, which will surely help others.

What The Tabs Are Talking About!

Published on January 4, 2012 By

Perez Hilton

Ah! Now, let's see here. What kind of treasures to the tabloids hold for us this week!

Why, this cover story (above) foretells that Brad Pitt has a love child with someone who is NOT Angelina Jolie! (Or Jennifer Aniston. Hasn't this girl suffered enough???) Can't say we find that story to be conceivable. Besides the obvious reasons, when in the hell would he have time to knock up another lady. Raising a dozen children is a lot of work you know.

They are at a dozen now, right?

Ah! And it seems Kim Kardashian is ready to return into the arms for a former lover. Another mad is klaiming that Kim is krawling back to Reggie Bush, insisting that she loves him still!

Least us not forget that Russell Brand is apparently insane and that Demi Moore is a lesbian. Will wonders never cease!

Check out the gallery below to view some more tabloid headlines from this week.

Watch The Navy’s First Official Lesbian Kiss!

Published on December 22, 2011 By

Perez Hilton

This really is such a beautiful, important moment for the country!

We're so thrilled it was captured on camera!

For the first time since Don't Ask Don't Tell was repealed, a lesbian couple was chosen by raffle to receive the first-ever same-sex homecoming kiss, which is a ritual done in the Navy every year!

And the lucky winners? Petty Officer 2nd Class Marissa Gaeta, who greeted her fiancée Citlalic Snell - whom she met at boot camp and got involved with secretly until the September repeal - on the pier for the history-making smooch!

So wonderful! Ch-ch-check it out (above)!

As Gaeta says:

"It's nice to be able to be myself."

Exactly. A simple right that EVERYONE should have.

Congratulations, ladies!

And EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL!
