So yesterday we talked all about the mayor of Hoboken, NJ straight up rejecting any filming of Snooki and JWoww's show.
And this mayor isn't playing around!! She is super aggressive!!
But how do the gurls feel about this??
Welp! They went on the Scott & Todd in the Morning WPLJ radio show in Manhattan this morning and addressed the issue there!!
And they're handling it very classy we think!!
According to them, they just want to bring profit to New Jersey but if someone doesn't want them, that's just fine and dandy! Cuz guess what! They don't want them either, LOL!!
Watch them talk about it ALL above!! PresSsSs PlaaYyY!!
Don't scoff! It was made official by the honorable New York Mayor Bloomberg!
For the past five years, the Upper East Side has been the actual backdrop for the ongoing dramas on Gossip Girl. Over 180 crew members and 120 principal actors have lived and worked in the city while the show's been on the air, and the fiscal result as been profitable for the Big Apple. Some $200 million has been spent on local development just to produce the series and over 500 local vendors have reaped the benefits of the CW's presence in Manhattan.
This morning, in honor of the show's 100th episode and the impact it has had on the city, Mayor Bloomberg joined the cast, including Blake Lively, Penn Badgely and Ed Westwick, on their set in Queens to present them with an official proclamation dubbing January 26th Gossip Girl Day! In it's final paragraph, the proclamation reads:
Gossip Girl is a show that people love talking, texting, tweeting and blogging about, and no matter where you're from, everyone can identify with a group of friends who grow up together, go to school together and struggle to stay close and find their own (Read more...)
One minute she's saying that she chose to be gay, the next she's revealing that she's shaved her head bald for an upcoming role!
Cynthia Nixon is nothing if not surprising!
Check out that bald head, you guys!
That takes guts, especially when you're known for your head of red hair! She did it for her role in the Manhattan Theatre Club production of Wit where she plays cancer stricken poetry professor Vivian Bearing.
Here's what she had to say about it:
'I thought it was kind of gonna be no muss-no fuss, but I have to shave it every day! It's got kind of a five o'clock shadow, and you don't want to go on with that. I was always kind of curious to see what it would be like. I like it; I don't think I'm gonna keep it forever.'
It opens Jan. 26th!
We think it's totally bold and a cool move when they might have been able just to use a bald cap or something!
What do U guys think of the new look??
We're going with the majority on this one; it is rather insensitive.
With Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close out in theaters now, ads for the film are plastered everywhere across the country, but mainly in major cities like Chicago, Los Angeles ... and of course, New York City.
While the studio has every right to promote their movie in the city where the horrific real life tragedy took place, it is more the placement of their ads that have people concerned. Namely, several video ads -- with footage of the burning towers -- have been playing at subway stops surrounding Ground Zero in Manhattan. Many New Yorkers have complained (see above), considering the ads very distasteful.
Upon hearing the complaints, WB released this statement, saying:
“It was never our intention to cause any distress. As a result, we will make best efforts to pull the material from pertinent locations.”
Really. New York is a pretty big place. No sense making people sad and uncomfortable like that just for the sake of money. You can saturate them with your ads someplace else, someplace that doesn't hit so close to home.
Do U agree?

Oh good! Because we couldn't help but wonder...
The official announcement came out of The CW yesterday that the network has given the greenlight to three new series. The first - and possibly the most-hyped - project is the long-awaited reboot of the Sex and The City franchise. A prequel to the series most love and adore, the show will be called Carrie Diaries after the Candace Bushnell novel of the same name and follow a young Bradshaw as she navigates the start of the senior year of high school.
Readers of the book know that Carrie actually started out in a little New England town before heading to the Big Apple, but in the series, the character will already be a Manhattanite attending a prestigious New York school. Sound familiar? As it should, considering that helming the project is none other than Gossip Girl team Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.
In addition to the SATC prequel, The CW has also picked up a modern remake of the popular 80s show Beauty and the Beast and an hour-long drama based on DC Comics' "Green Arrow" called Arrow. In other words, they are filling the voids left behind by Buffy (Read more...)
It has BEGUN!
Last month, Van Halen announced plans to go on tour for the first time in five years AND they released a rehearsal video showing the world that they've still got it! (above)
Now, we've learned that David Lee Roth and co. will perform a small concert at Cafe Wha? in Manhattan THIS THURSDAY!
Should be interesting to see how the show goes after soooo many years MIA!
What do U think? Can Van Halen still rock???
We're so happy to see David Arquette loved and happy!
A little part of our heart broke when he and Courteney Cox called it quits, but it doesn't look like he's gonna have to suffer another holiday season alone.
Christina McLarty seems to be loving David juuuust fiiine.
The lovebirds are pictured here taking a romantic stroll together in the heart of NYC.
And that little piece of our heart? It's gluing itself back together.

Aww! It's not every day you see a movie star going on a movie date!
Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman and her country music star husband Keith Urban left the kids at home to check out a flick in Manhattan on Sunday!
What do U think they saw? We hope it was The Muppets if they haven't seen it yet!
