Girls Talkin Smack

These 5 weird mug shots will send chills down your spine: not only did they manage to land themselves in the slammer, but they didn’t even clean themselves up for their mug shot, which they knew we’d all get to see! Mike Tyson made his mug shot memorable by sticking out his tongue, while Heather Locklear’s mascara streaked face is far from her usual flawless look. Not forgetting Nick Nolte’s legendary mug shot, which is probably the scariest of them all!

The King of Pop has still got it -- and so does Glee!

Last week's Michael Jackson episode was a huge win for the crew behind the FOX musical comedy. Not only was it the most watched episode of the season, but it also generated the highest music sales! With their ten tracks, all MJ themed, the show sold 405,773 new tracks at iTunes and all are in the top 30 of iTunes Top Songs Chart. The largest seller was Naya Rivera and Grant Gustin's cover of Smooth Criminal, selling 108K all on it's own. In fact, it ranks as the 3rd highest debut for a Glee song so far in Season 3, behind We Are Young and Rumour Has It/Someone Like You.

Not too shabby! Bet that makes everyone involved on the music end of things feel really good!

The magic touch of the studded glove never fails!

It was a winning Tuesday night for FOX as the network topped in the ratings, thanks to the heavily promoted (and totally enjoyable) Michael Jackson episode of Glee!

The series saw a nice rise in numbers, scoring a a 3.6 among adults 18-49 and matched their current season high in total viewers: 9 million Gleeks! Nice!

Of course, New Girl lent a hand in the boost as well, rising a tenth of a point for a 3.5 in the demo to tip the scales just that much more in the networks favor!

Solid! Here's hoping Ricky Martin can do the same for you guys next week!

Every GLEE-Tail: Michael Jackson Lives! (And Rachel Says…)

Hold on! Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. There might actually be some Gleeks out there who didn’t cancel all their plans to watch the West Coast premiere … and also clear their schedule to watch the East Coast feed because they couldn’t stand the wait any longer!

How cray-cray are they!

For those of you who didn’t tune in to Glee’s Michael Jackson tribute episode last night….

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD! SOME MAJOR PLOT POINTS WERE REVEALED LAST NIGHT AND WE DON’T WANT ANY OF THE SPECIAL MOMENTS RUINED FOR YOU. SO PLEASE, DON’T READ ANY FURTHER UNTIL YOU’VE SEEN THE EPISODE FOR YOURSELF. BUT DO COME BACK ONCE YOU HAVE SO WE CAN DISH!

Aaaand here we go:

We have a grievance to address before we get to this recap: never again do we ever want to hear any of the Gleeks go “hee-hee”. It seemed like every five minutes someone was making that MJ noise and it might have actually haunted our dreams. And we might be subconsciously doing it ourselves in casual conversation. But we digress…

The obvious place to start is with Rachel and Finn. We feel like we can be honest with you guys: we (Read more...)

Watch Every Performance From Last Night’s Glee HERE!

Don't you just love Wednesday mornings? Hump Day, they call it. But today, we're thinking we might rename it Crotch Grab day, on account of all of the junk holding in these videos from last night's Glee!

But what did you expect? It was Michael Jackson week! (And did we say we were complaining?)

While nothing will ever compare to the Britney Spears tribute episode for us, last night's MJ homage wasn't too bad either. The episode was very song heavy, which didn't give way to too much story to be told. But we got some EXCELLENT musical moments from Kevin McHale, Grant Gustin and the rarely heard from Dianna Agron, who got her first solo on the show in God knows how long!

The stand-out performances for us were definitely Artie and Mike Chang's recreation of MJ and Janet Jackson's video Scream, Smooooth Criminal with Grant and Naya Rivera, and that damn Finnchel duet that got us all fangirl tearing up from the first bar. We can't help it -- we're suckers for this stuff!

Check out Lea Michele and Cory Monteith's duet, as well as Kevin and Harry Shum Jr.'s routine in the videos (Read more...)

Katy Perry Lands A SIXTH #1 Hit On Billboard’s Pop Songs Chart!!!

Katy Perry's Teenage Dream is Teenage Cream-ing the competition!

Last week, we learned about Katy's plans to re-release her hit album in a new set that is being referred to as The Complete Confection!

We were thinking that this move was probably an attempt by Ms. Perry to get her latest single The One That Got Away (above) to reach the #1 spot on the charts, which would be her SIXTH number one hit from Teenage Dream!

Now, it's looking like she's already partially accomplished that goal, because her new single has reached the #1 spot on Billboard's Pop Songs Chart!

This makes Katy the third artist ever to release six #1 hits from a single album on the chart!

Should be interesting to see if Katy is next able to reach #1 on the Hot 100 chart for the sixth time, which would dethrone Michael Jackson's record!

Congratulations, Katy! Can't wait to check out those new tracks on Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection!

Stars Honor King Of Pop At Launch Of New Tour

Pink Is The New Blog

This week we have had a whole bunch of tributes to Michael Jackson, the world’s King of Pop. We saw his kids immortalize him at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater, and we had a sneak look at the Glee tribute episode, with ‘Wanna Be Startin Something.‘Today we have pics from the the MJ Immortal World Tour opening night and we see stars paying tribute to Michael Jackson by adopting his iconic looks. Check out the pics…

Rihanna’s look definitely paid homage to the King Of Pop, with her leather pants, embellished leather jacket and sunglasses.

Seeing stars dress like Michael Jackson made me think about the Amy Winehouse fashion show, because in both cases we have deceased icons being brought back to life with their distinctive aesthetics and ‘looks.’ On Friday we heard that Amy Winehouse’s father was furious at the fact that his deceased daughter was used in a fashion show by Jean Paul Gaultier. Many Pink readers debated over whether this was homage or insensitivity for financial gain, and it is not an easy one to work out because both sides of the argument are compelling. Was this case homage and Amy’s not? How would (Read more...)

Conrad Murray Files Appeal On His Ruling! Wants To Be Released From Jail In The Meantime!

He really still thinks he can slither his way out of this one, doesn't he?

Dr. Conrad Murray, who was sentenced to fours in prison in November for the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson, has filed legal documents to appeal his conviction, on the basis of "improper exclusion of defense evidence and witnesses that resulted in violating the defendant's State and constitutional rights to due process, to present a defense and to the effective assistance of counsel," and is even requesting that pending the ruling, he be released from jail!

Oh, but don't worry! He's willing to wear an electronic monitoring bracelet!

How flexible of him!

Yeesh! If he wants to appeal, that's his prerogative, but we think he should stay right where he is!
