Oh, for goodness sake!

Are these guys TRYING to get caught?

Greg Davis, the Republican Mayor of Southaven, Mississippi, who ran for office on a "conservative, family values" platform, was forced to come out of the closet after he made a $67 purchase at the Toronto gay sex shop Priape, and decided to bill it to his taxpayers as a WORK EXPENSE!

He now reveals:

“While I have performed my job as mayor, in my opinion, as a very conservative, progressive individual — and still continue to be a very conservative individual — I think that it is important that I discuss the struggles I have had over the last few years when I came to the realization that I am gay. At this point, my goal is to ensure that for the next year and a half that the city continues to grow. I will evaluate whether I will run again as mayor at a later time."

Davis, who has a wife and three children, also apparently billed taxpayers an estimated $170,000 for dinners, a family vacation and purchases at local liquor stores!

Oh, just lovely!

He understands that he was stealing, right?

So, so shameful. We (Read more...)

“We never imagined this film, which began its journey inspired by the enthusiasm of a small group of Mississippi friends, would ever even get made. Now to have it seen and embraced by so many people is just beyond our wildest dreams."

It's all about dreaming big, honey!

We're so pleased to see such a lovely film get such recognition. Well deserved indeed!

It’s A Good Thing Soulja Boy Didn’t Buy That Jet

It's probably a good thing Soulja Boy didn't buy that $55 million jet, but he probably shouldn't have had that $300,000 birthday party either.

We mentioned in our follow up post about the ridiculous idea of him buying a jet that he had had tax issues in the past -- it looks like they're still there.

To the tune of $26,000!

The State of California filed a $26,805 tax lien against the singer on March 24, 2011.

He also owed the State of Mississippi $3,571 in back taxes but he paid the full amount just last week on July 22, 2011. In other unfortunate news, his home in Georgia was foreclosed on last year.

We honestly do not know how this happens to so many celebrities, but hopefully the rapper who was named #18 on Forbes top hip-hop earners in 2010 still has enough saved up to bail himself out -- because we don't think the IRS is going to accept payment in birthday cake from a $300,000 party.

Though, they should consider what kind of cake it is first -- LOLz!

Very upsetting.

Tornadoes (above) and massive storms have been causing devastation throughout six U.S. states, including Alabama, Virginia, Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee, and Arkansas.

According to reports, as many as 231 people have died due to these horrific storms and tornadoes.

Here's what President Barack Obama said about these storms/tornadoes last night:

"While we may not know the extent of the damage for days, we will continue to monitor these severe storms across the country and stand ready to continue to help the people of Alabama and all citizens affected by these storms."

"Michelle and I extend our deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives because of the tornadoes that have swept through Alabama and the southeastern United States."

Such a tragedy.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who's being affected by these storms and tornadoes. Stay strong.

Yikes! He's got some issues!

Actor Gary Collins has been arrested for allegedly defrauding an innkeeper in Biloxi, Mississippi on Tuesday.

The former Miss America/"Hour Magazine" host, who has been arrested three times and has two DUIs under his belt, dined at Jazzeppi's Restaurant and left without paying his $59.35 bill. Employees stopped him to let him know that he did not pay, but Collins ignored their warning. They even followed him out to the parking lot.

Unfortunately for the actor, refusing to pay a restaurant bill over $25 in Mississippi is a felony. Collins is being held on $5,000 bail.

All this mess for the $40 chef's steak special and some booze!

Sad.

He's in a heap of trouble!

Last night, police responded to a hit-and-run called in Jackson, Mississippi. When the cops arrived, a mother told them that a man, who was "clearly intoxicated" slammed into her car with she and her baby inside. When he got out to talk to her, he screamed, "What are you waiting for?" before getting back into the car and speeding off.

The man has been identified as former host of the Miss America pageant, Gary Collins, who has already been arrested three times for DUIS. (One time, he was driving a motor home with a .29 blood alcohol level! Whoa!)

Gary has yet to turn himself in and the police have yet to catch up with him. He'll have a lot to answer for!

This is wonderful!

Constance McMillen, the lesbian teenager who touched our hearts with her bravery and perserverence after she fought her Mississippi school district for banning her from her High School's prom because she wanted to bring her girlfriend as her date, will soon be the subject of a film, set to premiere on ABC Family!

The project, which is still apparently in early stages of development, will be written and directed by John Gray and produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.

Amazing!

Constance is truly a remarkable young woman, and her story is such an inspiring one, so we look forward to seeing how it's adapted for the film! We sincerely hope it does her justice!

Good for her!

The school district has also agreed to adopt a policy banning discrimination based on sexual orientation.
