Jay Leno To Do Stand-Up For The Gulf Coast

Jay Leno will be doing stand-up on Saturday to benefit Gulf Coast residents affected by the oil spill.

He'll be appearing at The Beau Rivage Theater in Biloxi, Miss., billed as Stand-Up for the Gulf Coast: A Special Evening with Jay Leno to Benefit the Gulf Coast Community Foundation. All proceeds will go to the Gulf Coast community.

Tickets for the benefit $40, $80 and $150 each and will be administered by the foundation through its Mississippi Oil Spill Recovery Fund.

Way to go, Jay!

Gay Teen Gets A Prom Settlement!

Good for her!

Constance McMillen is being paid $35,000 in damages from the Fulton, Mississippi school district after they discriminated against her when she wanted to bring her girlfriend to prom.

The school district has also agreed to adopt a policy banning discrimination based on sexual orientation.

Constance says:

"I'm so glad this is all over. I won't ever get my prom back, but it's worth it if it changes things at my school."

Constance McMillen of Itawamba Agricultural High School who was discriminated against for wanting to bring her girlfriend to prom will finally get the opportunity to have the celebration she deserves!

Thanks to donations, the American Humanist Association and the ACLU a "Second Chance" prom will take place in Tupelo, Mississippi!

All Itawamba students are welcome to attend musical acts include Hey Champ, DJ Quest Love and other surprise guests!

Mississippi Teen Snubbed From Yearbook Because She Was Gay!

Nothing surprises us anymore!

In a despicable move by the Copiah County School District in Mississippi, lesbian student Ceara Sturgis was not included in the school's 2010 yearbook.

The senior photo she submitted wearing a tuxedo was denied!

"They didn't even put her name in it," said Ceara's mother Veronica Rodriguez. "I was so furious when she told me about it. Ceara started crying and I told her to suck it up. Is that not pathetic for them to do that? Yet again, they have crapped on her and made her feel alienated."

The Mississippi ACLU wrote a letter in October demanding the school use the submitted photo, but officials would not relent. But her mother did expect a reference to her daughter on the senior page, yet she discovered that they refused to acknowledge her existence.

Ceara's mother continued:

"It's like she's nobody there, even though she's gone to school there for 12 years. They mentioned none of her accolades, even though she's one of the smartest students there with wonderful grades. More Deets From Kitty Kelley’s Oprah Biography!

This book sounds SO juicy!

Apparently Oprah Winfrey exaggerated quite a bit about her impoverished upbringing in Mississippi, according to Kitty Kelley's new biography.

O's cousin Katherine Carr Esters says:

“Where Oprah got that nonsense about growing up in filth and roaches I have no idea. I’ve confronted her and asked, ‘why do you tell such lies?’ Oprah told me ‘that’s what people want to hear. The truth is boring.’”

Kelley also writes that there were rumors swirling about a relationship between Oprah and Diane Sawyer!

Employees at ABC said that the two of them had "giggly late-night phone cals" and Oprah send Diane extravagant gifts including giant bouquets of orchids and a one-carat diamond toe-ring!

Other sources described a time when Oprah paid an ex-boyfriend $50,000 to keep quiet about her gay brother and her own lesbian affairs! The book also said that she and her current partner Stedman Graham do not share a bedroom.

The other big secret is that Oprah still doesn't know who her father is! Her cousin told Kelley who he is, but made her promise not to publish the information until O's mother tells Oprah the truth!

Constance Speaks! She And Differently-Abled Students Sent To Fake Prom!

How absolutely heart wrenching.

We reported yesterday that Constance McMillen, the brave young woman from Mississippi who just wanted to bring her girlfriend to prom, was sent to a fake dance by parents while the rest of her class celebrated at a secret location the same night.

Constance has spoken out about the hateful display of bigotry, and we once again are humbled by her grace and perserverence!

"They had two proms and I was only invited to one of them. The one that I went to had seven people there, and everyone went to the other one I wasn’t invited to. It hurts my feelings."

Perhaps even more disgusting, however, is that the organizers not only segregated Constance, but sent two differently-abled students to the fake prom, as well!

Unbelievable. We hope that everyone responsible are all very proud of themselves, singling out and taking advantage of kids with learning disabilities. We're sure that there's a whole lot of karma coming right back at them soon.

Constance, however, is a true class act and focused on the positive so her classmates could have a nice night!

Georgia School Allows Gay Teen To Bring Same-Sex Date To Prom!!

We can't get over how brave these kids are!!

Another High School, this time in Cochran, Georgia, has received press for a homosexual student requesting to bring a same-sex date to prom, only this one has a happier ending than in Mississippi!

Derrick Martin asked Bleckley County school officials if could bring his boyfriend to his senior prom, and last week they gave him the official okay!!

Fantastic!!

Martin says:

“I didn’t expect them to say yes. It’s who I am. I have the same rights. It’s my senior prom and I wanted to be able to prove not everyone would cancel prom. At first she said no, Cochran wasn’t ready for it. But then last week, school officials said they have no policy in place against it. It’s standing up for the rights thing, especially after the Mississippi canceled prom. It’s senior prom. It’s pretty big.”

What a sweet kid! Way to make a stand!

And the school officials seemed to have a much more logical perspective on the matter.
