Barbara Walters, Oprah Winfrey in Bidding War For Pippa Middleton Interview?

Duchess Catherine's sister Pippa Middleton has given exactly no interviews since the Royal Wedding in April. Are Barbara Walters and Oprah angling to change that?

British tabloids are reporting that Walters and Oprah are engaged in a bidding war to book the 28-year-old party planner for a TV special - potentially for big bucks.

Walters, 82, denied on The View Monday. "It's not true," the journalist said.

"ABC News does not pay for interviews. I have no idea what Oprah does, but ABC does not pay. She's not a news program, so maybe they have a different policy."

That doesn't mean Walters wouldn't be up for interviewing Pippa Middleton, who was one of her most fascinating people of 2011, as unveiled in late December.

"To make it clear: Would I like to do the interview? Yes, I would like to I think she's a charming, beautiful girl," Walters said. "Will we pay to do the interview? No."

They could make a major donation to a charity of Kate Middleton's choice in exchange for an interview, though. That's not technically paying. Loopholes, people.

Happy Birthday Oprah!

Today is Oprah Winfrey’s birthday and we should send her lots of birthday love…it has been a big year for Oprah and regardless of what people think of the big O – she is one major icon. Read on for more details about what she has been up to the past few months.

2011 was definitely a defining year for Oprah. In May last year she signed off on the final episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show. She tried to make her own network take-off and find an audience but that didn’t really take off. Then she announced that is now planning to make her return to TV with a new talk show. There was also all the silly rumors about her being B-Jay’s baby, Blue Ivy’s, godmother too…

Born January 29, 1954 makes Oprah 58 today – she has achieved some pretty massive things in those 58 years. Whatever people think of Oprah, no one can deny that she has done A LOT! Who Is Oprah Spending Her B-Day With?

Oprah turns 58 on January 29th and she's got a special guest to share it with.

That guest...Ted Turner!!!

Well, it won't be romantic however.

Oprah will actually be working and interviewing the media kingpin for Oprah's Master Class.

The host will interview Turner on his accomplishments and major achievements. The CNN founder will join Goldie Hawn and Morgan Freeman in the pantheon of guests for the show.

Turner explains how he started CNN on the show:

I worked 'til 6 or 7 o'clock at night. By the time I got (home), the news was, the early news was over and I had to go to bed at 10 because I got up really early to go to work … I missed the 11 o'clock news. … So I, I never saw television news. And I knew there were a lot of people like me. I knew that if it was on all the time, like - and all news radio had already proven successful. So I figured, you know, if it worked on radio it would work on TV too.

That's not a fun way to celebrate your b-day. But she's working hard!

Oprah Winfrey Is NOT Godmother To Blue Ivy Carter

Earlier this week a silly rumor started to make the rounds that insisted that new parents Beyoncé Knowles and Jay-Z chose Oprah Winfery and Jay‘s BFF Tyran Ty Ty Smith to be godparents to their newborn baby girl Blue Ivy. Today we learn, sadly, that the rumor is not true … well, at least half of the rumor isn’t true. Oprah‘s BFF Gayle King has denied the report that Oprah will be godmother to Blue Ivy. Contrary to previous reports, Oprah Winfrey is not a godmother to Beyonce Knowles’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter. On Friday, January 27, Winfrey’s close friend Gayle King set the record straight on “CBS This Morning”, saying, “It’s absolutely not true that she’s the godmother.” “She’s friends with them, of course, and likes them both very much. So incredible to see these people persevering after such tragedy!

Check out this wonderful preview clip from Oprah's Next Chapter, during which she visits the devastated country of Haiti alongside Sean Penn to see how its people are still re-building their lives so they can find work and build homes (above)!

Truly powerful stuff here.

We can't imagine how difficult this all must be, but glad to know that people like Oprah and Sean are there to continue to provide them with relief!

Is Oprah Really Blue Ivy’s Godmother?

Some reports surfaced earlier this week that none other than Oprah is the godmother of Beyonce and Jay-Z's newborn baby girl, Blue Ivy Carter. But is it true?

It is not. Oprah is not the godmother.

She may be a fairy godmother in a non-official sense - she did send baby Blue an entire trunk full of books already - but she hasn't been given any title.

Winfrey's BFF Gayle King said: "Let me just say, if [this] is true, it is news to her. You know, she was heading to South Africa when the baby was born."

A separate source close to the power couple's camp also tells E! News that this is not true, and that Media Takeout was wrong (in a stunning revelation).

Again, no need to worry, though, as Oprah's close to Beyonce and Jay-Z, so Blue Ivy should still get first dibs on Winfrey's annual Favorite Things list.
