Rule of thumb: Don't mess with the Queen of Pop!!!
After taking a few jabs at her, Ricky Gervais introduced Madonna to present the award for Best Foreign Film. Before she got down to business, Madonna did what we think the likes of Jodie Foster and Kim Kardashian wish they could - she got back at him!
Check out the video (above) to watch Madonna lay into Ricky in just about the best way possible!
That's our DIVA!
Compared to his monologue from 2011, Ricky Gervais took it very easy on celebrities to open tonight's Golden Globe Awards. Celebrities in attendance, that is.
The comedian did get in a couple of digs at two THG mainstays, however, first comparing this ceremony to the Academy awards via this zinger:
“The Golden Globes are to the Oscars what Kim Kardashian is to Kate Middleton. A bit louder, bit trashier, bit drunker, and more easily bought... allegedly.”
Gervais then turned his attention to Justin Bieber, referring to his paternity test scandal and expressing shock at the mere notion of Bieber as a father. Quipped the host:
“The only way that he could have impregnated a girl is if he borrowed one of Martha Stewart’s turkey basters.”
Eh, not bad. Fairly random, considering music is the one industry NOT recognized by the Golden Globes, but, hey, being referenced in a monologue means you've really made it. Wait, no one tell that to Kim.
They should bring the kids with them too!
Brad and Angie will be presenting an award together at the 69th annual Golden Globes. They a mega list of celebs that include Natalie Portman, George Clooney, Mila Kunis, Mark Wahlberg, Robert Downey Jr., Reese Witherspoon, Rob Lowe, Michelle Pfeiffer, Salma Hayek, Melissa McCarthy and Nicole Kidman...just to name a few.
And of course, Ricky Gervais as host!
Brangelina are up for rewards themselves, including Best Actor and Best Mo-Pic nods for Brad and Best Foreign Lang Film for Angelina.
Will this be the year Brad joins Angie in the leading actor winner club?!
We'll find out on Sunday!
Continuing his pop shots at the entertainment industry, Ricky Gervais has a few choice words for actors and their acceptance speeches.
A well known atheist, Gervais slams Hollywood for thanking God when they've won an award. He puts his views into perspective with his closing speech at his Golden Globes skewering last year.
Gervais ended the show with the line, "Thank you to God that I'm an atheist."
To say a few eyebrows were raised is a HUGE understatement.
The comedian said the following about his religious rip:
Let's get this in perspective: They're the wealthiest, most privileged people in the world.Imagine if I had gone out there and said, 'We're all in the same gang. Aren't we brilliant? Us millionaires together.
It was a swipe at all those people who thank God because they won an award. How arrogant is that? There's war and famine and God's going, 'Know what Bullock? Write a speech. I'm not going to say anything, Sandra, but write a speech. That's all I'm saying
What does the searing Gervais have planned next?! We can't wait to find out Sunday!
Last month, comic Ricky Gervais (who will be hosting the Golden Globe Awards this Sunday night) sparked a bit of controversy by posing as Jesus Christ with the word ATHEIST written on his chest on the cover of New Humanist magazine. Today we learn that Gervais is at it again with new comments that he made to Esquire magazine about other celebrities (like, namely, Sandra Bullock) who are “arrogant” enough to thank God when they win awards. Additionally, Ricky reveals to Esquire that he is very much looking forward to hosing the Globes again this year … and he vows that he will NEVER host the Academy Awards should he be asked.

On his commitment as an atheist: I have no choice. I can’t help what I believe. Probably the most offensive thing I ever said was “Thank God for making me an atheist.” It was a swipe at all those people who thank God because they won an award. How arrogant is that? There’s war and famine and God’s going, “Know what Bullock? Write a speech. I’m not going to say anything, Sandra, but write a speech. That’s all I’m saying.”

And we wouldn't want it any other way.
Some may think that Ricky Gervais may have to tone things down a bit when he hosts the Golden Globes again this year.
But the comedian says:
"I do it my way, I get finality on everything ... and they won't know what I'm going to say until I say it."
Ha! That's what makes things so exciting! We're just DYING to find out who he offends this year!

Comic Ricky Gervais, who was recently announced as the host of the 2012 Golden Globe Awards (for the second year in a row), is featured on the cover of the new issue of New Humanist magazine. As a proud atheist, Ricky uses his coverphoto and accompanying interview to voice his religious beliefs (or lack thereof). On the cover of New Humanist magazine, Ricky strikes a Jesus Christ pose and in his interview, he explains his staunch atheism … just in time for the Xmas holiday. Ricky Gervais has become a target for Christian outraged by his views on religion. The unapologetic atheist is being targeted on Twitter by a host of believers who have taken offence at his view. The Office creator, 50, has often spoken of his lack of faith, but his appearance on the cover of New Humanist magazine in a Jesus Christ-style pose has pushed a few over the edge. For the shot, he uses a microphone stand for his cross, dons a crown of thorns and has the word ‘atheist’ daubed across his chest in blood red. But (Read more...)
This got ugly FAST!
Fundamentalist Christians have taken to Twitter to speak out against self-proclaimed atheist Ricky Gervais...and he's fighting back against them!
Here are some highlights from @GodsWordIsLaw:
"Anti -Christian bigot!!!! >>>>>>>>>>>>>> @rickygervais"
"ANY CHRISTIAN THAT FOLLOWS @RICKYGERVAIS IS NOT A CHRISTIAN. He tweets Anti-Christian bigotry all day long. Vile creature!"
And here are some of @RickyGervais' responses:
"“@GodsWordIsLaw: ANY CHRISTIAN THAT FOLLOWS @RICKYGERVAIS IS NOT A CHRISTIAN" Good Christians hate you more than I do Keith. #embarrassment"
"I am not anti christian. I am anti bigot @GodsWordIsLaw I don't believe in ANY god. I treat all religions equally. And all good people"
Sounds to us like these two need to stay away from each others' Twitter pages!
Live and let tweet, people! Ha!
