Sarah Palin: The Fix Is In For Mitt Romney

Published on January 30, 2012 By

The Hollywood Gossip

Is the fix in for Mitt Romney? Sarah Palin seems to think so, going on an epic Facebook rant against Republicans trying to smack down Newt Gingrich ... but is she even more full of it than the establishment she rails against?

It's true that Republican officials and mainstream media figures do seem to be forcing the argument that Romney is the inevitable GOP nominee, despite the widespread antipathy toward the former Massachusetts governor nationwide.

Palin and Romney

Palin's arguments may be thinner than her melting Alaskan ice caps, however, and her motives are highly questionable aside from making sure Sarah Palin remains a topic of discussion. In that respect, guess we fell for it. Sorry.

In a post this weekend, she attacks the Republican "establishment cannibals" for using "Alinsky" tactics against Newt Gingrich in the run up to the Florida primary.

Her main objection appears to be that those who have questioned Gingrich's ties to Ronald Reagan have done so inappropriately and are doing the work of the left.

Never mind that Gingrich has tied himself to Reagan and his accomplishments with every other breath he takes. And who is the GOP "establishment," anyway?

Sarah Palin Says Chris Christie Has "Panties in a Wad" Over Newt Gingrich Surge

Published on January 24, 2012 By

The Hollywood Gossip

Sarah Palin has a way with words.

The 2008 V.P. nominee, who hasn't formally endorsed Newt Gingrich but still told people to vote for Newt in South Carolina and is clearly glad he won Saturday's primary, had some fun with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's reaction to Gingrich's win.

After Christie, a Romney supporter and surrogate, bashed Gingrich as an embarrassment to the Republican party, Palin stated, eloquently, that Chris just has his panties in a wad over his guy losing. Sarah's words, not ours. Watch:

Sarah Palin to South Carolinians: Vote For Newt!

Published on January 19, 2012 By

The Hollywood Gossip

Sarah Palin hasn't endorsed Newt Gingrich in the GOP presidential race, but says she would vote for the former House Speaker if she were a South Carolinian.

Way to really put yourself out there.

"If I had to vote in South Carolina, in order to keep this thing going I'd vote for Newt and I would want this to continue," the 2008 V.P. nominee told Fox News.

"These guys are getting better in their debates, they are getting more concise, more grounded in what their beliefs are and articulating what their ideas are."

"If I had to vote in South Carolina, in order to keep this thing going I'd vote for Newt and I would want this to continue. More debates, more vetting of candidates."

"I want to see that taking place this time because America is on this precipice, it's that important. We need this process to continue on," she added.

Todd Palin, Sarah's husband, recently endorsed Gingrich, and Sarah's comments show she thinks of him favorably despite a lack of overt endorsement.

Whether it does him any good in Saturday's primary remains to be seen. Newt's showing at the first South Carolina debate (Read more...)

Sarah Palin to Newsweek: YOU’RE Dumb!

Published on January 17, 2012 By

The Hollywood Gossip

Many conservatives are furious over Newsweek's controversy-bait cover story by Andrew Sullivan, whose headline asks, "Why Are Obama's Critics So Dumb?"

Sarah Palin is taking it particularly personally, though.

"Know what's truly 'dumb'?" Palin Tweeted. "Giving a cover story to the Trig Truther conspiracy kook writer who thinks I didn't give birth to my son."

Why Are Obama's Critics So Dumb?Sarah Palin in NYC

In a play on the "Birther" conspiracy surrounding Obama's birth certificate, Palin is calling out Sullivan for questioning whether she is Trig's real mother.

In 2008, Sullivan and others theorized that a Sarah Palin pregnancy scandal involving a cover-up of Bristol Palin getting knocked up could be in effect.

Bristol was, of course, pregnant with Tripp, not Trig.

He hypothesized that Palin "faked the pregnancy to avoid embarrassment for her daughter [Bristol] or for political gain or some combination of reasons."

Sullivan's response to Palin calling him out today?

"I have no idea, as I have said time and time again, whether Sarah Palin gave birth to Trig, and have never written such a thing."

"All I ever asked for a person who could become president was some basic evidence for her insane story, like medical records that most candidates have no problem (Read more...)

HBO Orders Up A Double Dose Of Palin For April

HBO wants some Alaskan loving from Sarah Palin.

The premium cabler has ordered up Julia Louis-Dreyfus' show, Veep. The show will have Julia in a comedic role as the VP of the United States who is one heartbeat away from the presidency, a la Miss Palin if things went different in '08.

Game Change, HBO's other endeavor, will take Palin the literal sense as the telefilm documents 2008 election. Julianne Moore will don the mom glasses and high bun as Palin.

Should be a great political Spring for HBO!

Sarah Palin Lays Into "Unscrupulous, Gimmicky Thuggery" of Obama Campaign

Published on January 5, 2012 By

The Hollywood Gossip

Sarah Palin weighed in on the race for the White House last night.

You were dying to hear from her, we know. You're so welcome.

Appearing on Fox News' Hannity, Palin, who has not endorsed a Republican candidate in the 2012 campaign, offered general praise for the field after Tuesday's Iowa caucus, reserving the red meat for President Barack Obama.

"My concern is for the GOP candidate who wins this is primary, as they go forward to face the Obama presidential ticket machine and really the thuggery that is involved in that," Palin said, segueing to John McCain's endorsement of Mitt Romney.

"I believe that Senator McCain, in his endorsement of Mitt Romney, Senator McCain and I, we're the only ones in America who have ever had to face that Obama presidential ticket machine and all that it encompassed," she added.

"What it encompassed, you know, this unscrupulous, gimmicky scheme that it was. And Senator McCain, evidently has chosen Mitt Romney as the one to be the most prepared to face this thuggery, this scheme that someone's going to have to face."

Is Romney the best prepared? Or the most electable? Do you wish (Read more...)

Game Change Trailer: Julianne Moore is Sarah Palin

Published on December 22, 2011 By

The Hollywood Gossip

Julianne Moore’s transformation into Sarah Palin in the HBO film Game Change, set to premiere in March, is striking. Guess that's how you earn four Oscar nominations.

The 51-year-old actress stars opposite Ed Harris (as John McCain) and Woody Harrelson (adviser Steve Schmidt) in the film based on the 2010 book of the same name.

Game Change centers around the '08 presidential elections, following the U.S. Senator’s run and decision to select Palin, then governor of Alaska, as his running mate:

“In terms of research I did on the way campaigns are conducted, so much is about how do you get on the air, how do you get the most media attention," Moore said.

"How do you make the most noise. When in fact, what we’re all looking for is leadership, we don’t want noise. We want people who are going to take care of us.”

Wow. That's way too intelligent to come from an actual political figure.

The book Game Change chronicled the actions of both parties during the 2008 race, but based on the cast, the film looks to be centered primarily on the Republican side.
