Game Change premiered on HBO Saturday night and was pretty damn HUGE! In fact, it was the premium cabler best original film in eight years!
Take that, John Adams! (Or is that considered more of a mini-series...)
The controversial TV flick starring Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin scored an average 2.1 million viewers during its weekend run and 3.6 million viewers over its four showings, depicting John McCain's costly move of bringing in Palin as his Vice Presidential running mate.
Team Palin may not be too pleased with the flick, but the people have spoken!!! They LUV it!
Guess we'll have to TIVO this one the next time it is on?

Oh, Tina Fey! How we miss your incredible Sarah Palin impression!
Andy Samberg made a sad attempt at pretending to be the former VP nominee on last night's SNL and oh boy, it was rough.
LOL, okay sure, we know it was intentional, but it really does make us miss the good ol' days with Mz. Tina!
Wanna see Andy's Palin? Ch-ch-check it out (above)!
In HBO's new film Game Chance, Sarah Palin is portrayed by Julianne Moore as unstable, unprepared and ill-informed on world affairs and basic world history.
The former GOP V.P. candidate is none too pleased about this, even though the film is based on John Heilemann and Mark Halperin’s page-turning bestseller.
A non-fiction bestseller.
Of course, Palin will never actually see it, but dag gone it, “Hollywood lies are Hollywood lies,” she says of Game Change and its window into the 2008 election.
Palin accuses Jay Roach, the director, and his collaborator, Danny Strong, of trying “[To] drum up their money and their machine and their machine happens to be very pro-leftist, pro-Barack Obama ... there at HBO.”
The one-time Alaska Governor lambasted its “false narrative” also noted that the campaign staffers who contributed to revealing behind-the-scenes tidbits for Game Change should feel “shame and… embarrassment.”
Palin’s PAC slammed the film, debuting tomorrow night, as “historical fiction.”
The PAC claims that despite the alleged 25 sources consulted, "none are on record nor is their level of involvement in the campaign disclosed. Not one source is on the record in either the book or in the movie and it is clear (Read more...)
Soooo interesting!!
And can we just say, whoever it was that saw in Julianne Moore the potential to look EXACTLY like Sarah Palin is a genius -- and can see something we can't!
Because when she ISN'T done up like Sarah, she looks nothing like her!
Incredible!

Back in April last year we got to see the first look at Julianne Moore’s portrayal of Sarah Palin in the HBO docudrama, Game Change. As Trent told us then, Tina Fey famously played, and excelled at spoofing Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live during the 2008 presidential election and naturally, comparisons are going to be drawn between Tina and Julianne. In the lead up to the premiere of the HBO show this Saturday, Julianne has revealed the work that has gone into taking on the challenge of playing Palin and I think she’s nervous about being stacked up against Tina. How do you think she’s going to do?
The two hour docudrama is due to air on Saturday and already there is talk of the possibility of awards for Moore’s portrayal of the former Alaska governor. Palin and her team naturally have called the movie “fiction” but Julianne has taken the role very seriously and attempted to bring as much accuracy to the character as possible. She has even used The Method acting technique which is all about actors creating in themselves the thoughts and emotions of their characters so as to develop lifelike performances.
Julianne has (Read more...)
Former Alaska governor and 2008 Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin threw her weight behind Newt Gingrich as Republican presidential nominee Tuesday.
At the same time, she coyly left open the door for her own White House run.
The GOP firebrand said she voted for Newt in the caucus/primary in Alaska, one of 10 states to cast ballots yesterday (see THG's full Super Tuesday results).
"I will tell you who I voted for... the cheerful one, it's Newt Gingrich," Palin said, referring to the one-word description Newt gave himself in a recent date.
"I have appreciated what he has stood for, stood boldly for," she said. "He has been the underdog in many of these primary races and these caucuses."
"I've respected what he has stood for."
She spoke as as longtime frontrunner Mitt Romney tightened his grip on the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, but failed to deliver a knockout blow.
Romney won six states, including Alaska, with a whole 33 percent of the vote, while Rick Santorum won three and Gingrich cruised in his native Georgia.
That win gives Newt an outside chance of rebooting his bid if he can gain some (Read more...)
How do you even know what's in it??
The screenwriter for the upcoming HBO movie Game Change, which is about Sarah Palin in 2008 (played by an uncanny Julianne Moore), really wishes Sarah would watch the movie before she started bashing it.
Just because she has no idea how it's presented is no reason for her political action committee to NOT release video and statement slamming it as being “fiction” filled with “the half-baked truths and fabrications of the liberal left.”
And guess what?
They even offered to screen it for her, and she turned it down. It's easier to jump to conclusions that way!
Here's what the screenwriter, Danny Strong, said:
“Everything in that video is in the movie. If they would have seen the film before they attacked it, they would know that we have dramatized everything that they put in their video that Sarah Palin supporters are proud of. She really is a dynamic person that did a lot of amazing things for that campaign.”
And here's what HBO said:
“Game Change, the book, was applauded by audiences and pundits on both ends of the political spectrum when it was released in 2010. The (Read more...)

With HBO airing Game Change, Reelz Channel has decided to get in on the Sarah Palin mix.
The network will air The Undefeated, a favorable documentary highlighting Palin's journey through the 2008 campaign process.
Game Change's portrayal of Sarah Palin isn't as shiny and sparkly like this one. The HBO movie highlights John McCain's strategist, Steve Schmidt, second guessing his idea of picking Palin as McCain's VP.
The Undefeated will premiere March 11th, the day after Game Change airs on HBO. Game Change is loaded with talent, including Julianne Moore, Woody Harrelson and Ed Harris, while The Undefeated will use the actual candidates.
We're interested to see who will win this Sarah Palin throwdown!
Which one will U be watching? Reelz? Or HBO?

Sarah Palin earned the nickname Sarah Barracuda for her gritty play on the basketball court, not in the political arena - though the quality served her well there as well.
It's no surprise, then, that she's name-dropping popular figures of the moment to stay relevant rooting for another hard-working point guard, New York's Jeremy Lin.
On Fox Business Network yesterday, the ex-Alaska governor flashed a Lin t-shirt and raved about his performance. “All of a sudden, our team is the Knicks,” Palin said.
“Linsanity, man,” she raved. Well put.

“I mean, talk about an all-American story where sort of the underdog, you know, but works so hard, just erased all the stuff out there on the periphery in his life."
"Humble, and now look where he is.”
Look where Sarah Palin is too. Four years ago, on the cusp of being the first woman V.P. of the U.S. Now spouting vapid nonsense people have long since tuned out.
A true riches to rags story if ever there were one.
